The cathedral has a nice view from the outside but the inside has some amazing sculpture and inlay work. A must see in Trier. The courtyard is also very nice.

I was lucky enough to see The Holy Robe (Heilige Rock) of Christ, the sacred relic of Trier Cathedral. It is believed to be the seamless garment worn by Christ during the Crucifixion.

At irregular times the Cathedral (Dom) displays the cloak (although I'd argue it's more of a dress) that Jesus wore at his trial. I was lucky enough to visit during one of these times and only waited in line about 2 hours total. Check out the Holy Robe days on their website. That is when their most sacred relic is exhibit to general public. Otherwise it is kept in special conditions and cannot be seen.
