There was an admission price and the exhibits were decent. My kids liked the Playmobil exhibit the most. The view of Koblenz from the fortress grounds is amazing. Get the package deal that allows you the cable car and fortress admission and you will see fantastic views on your ride down to Koblenz. Also, this place is family friendly as... More

The Fortress is an amazing place to see with its location high on a mountain along the Rhine River across from Koblenz, Germany. The best access is via cable car from the Koblenz waterfront. We were there during a riverboat cruise stop and took the cable car to the Fortress. There we enjoyed a nice private reception overlooking the river... More

Beautiful structure, well-kept, clean, protected. An amazing panoramic view of Koblenz and the confluence of rivers. Worth a visit, a true heritage site.

Really enjoyed wandering around the fortress, and was very surprised at the size of it. It was very interesting in the dungeon area.

reaaly a fun place to go up to. you take an enclosed lift to the top. There is a small cafe/ biergarten at the top which has a wonderful view of the 2 merging rivers below. It is quite the fortress with impressive stone work which intact. The view is super. There is also usually an exhibit, July 2015 it... More

We got the cable car up to the fortress and that in itself was spectacular . We were told that this is the largest cable car ride in Europe outdoor de of the Alps . Was about 28 euro for the four of us 2 adults and 2 kids aged 11 and 7 and thick slap included admission to the... More

The huge fortress overlooking the city of Koblenz from the opposite river bank of the Rhine has a 3000 year history, but is most interesting for what was done to restore, maintain and make use today of an enormous 18th century military complex. Easy to reach by coar, bus or cable car from the city centre in a few minutes.... More

Started with a fantastic cable car journey across the Rhine. The fortress is huge and a lot to see. For non German speakers there was only one part that had English explanations but you were able to generally work out what things were about. Magnificent views of Koblenz. This view alone was worth the visit.

Our visit to fortress ehrenbreitstein was really nice. The fortress itself is really nice and we made tons of pictures. Next to that we also saw 40 years Playmobil en a photo exposition. We didn't know about the possibility for a guide by headphones. That might have been even more fun. We only watched things and read little signs on... More
