Take the elevated lift from the other side of the Rhine to get there. Stop in the gift shop before you go in to get some headphones so you can learn about what you are seeing.

Took the cable car to the fort (purchased the combined ticket for the ride. The fortress is amazing! Because of its strategic location (where the Mosel and Rhine Rivers meet) it has been used for 5,000 years. We used the audio guides in English which was very helpful. You will need at least 2+ hours to complete the tour. It... More

We bought the combined ticket for the return gondola ride and access to the fortresses on a sunny morning to get the view of Koblenz from above. It turned out to be one of the best days of our trip to Europe. The fact that the sun was out and it was a German holiday certainly added to the day.... More

First thing to know is that you can reach it on a cable car and buy a combined ticket for the return ride and fortress. As well as that, there is a funicular on the other side of the river or you can just walk. A really interesting place with lots a side exhibitions. There was an exhibition about Playmobil... More

Koblenz is not so big if you only count the tourist spots. The view is quite nice. You can see the confluence of the Mosel and Rhein rivers. You can also see the castles on the hills. The pier for boat trip and the cable car are all just next to the Fortress.

We would definitely recommend a tour to all. We took the guided English speaking headphone tour which was really helpful. The place is amazing but incredibly badly signposted with staff that were amazingly unhelpful, just seemed totally disinterested in their work which is sad.

You get a fantastic view from the fortress, looking down on the confluence of the Mosel and Rhein rivers and the city of Koblenz. We were very disappointed that the museum made very little effort to accommodate non-German-speaking visitors. We did have an English map of the place but that was it. The site consists of multiple museums but the... More
