Hard to believe people can work these vineyards. They appear to be vertical! It was interesting to learn how they do work the vines. The scenery along the river is magnificent.

I think it's important to contrast the Mosel with the nearby Rhine River Valley. The Mosel is much narrower than the Rhine. Where the Rhine has trains running on both sides, the Mosel has small (but paved) roads. Also, being wider, the Rhine transports many more shipments of goods on large barges, as well as tourist boats. The Mosel not... More

Our starting point was a Landal camping over Leiwen. You need at least a week to discover all the hidden beauties in the heavenly Mosel wine-valley! The whole river-side area is magical but I would strongly recommend, starting from Trier, to visit the villages Schweich, Leiwen, Neumagen-Dhron, Muellheim, Bernkastel-Kues, Traben-Trabach, Zell and mainly Beilstein and Cochem! All the above are... More

Amazing holiday on the Rhein & Mosel rivers. Fabulous ship - William Shakespeare - cabins with sliding french doors so you can sit in your cabin as you glide along. Great places to visit including Koblenz, Bernkastel, Cochem & Boppard. The food is excellent, plentiful & varied for all tastes. The crew are helpful and cheerful. Riviera travel has an... More

We stayed in the vineyard town of Mehring at Hoffranzen Gasthaus they produce their own wine and allowed us to watch the process and see the cellars. We walked to dinner at a local spot for dinner. We had breakfast at our Gasthaus it was nice sitting and visiting with other travelers while enjoying breakfast. Hoffranzen is not listed on... More

If you start in Koblenz and journey to Trier the Mosel River Valley presents a lot of fantastic options that can easily consume a week. This was our second time in the area, the first being in December, this time late May. This trip we used Cochum as our home base for three days. Cochum is a picturesque city that... More

We travelled to this region from Kerry Airport in Ireland and arrived at Hahn airport. Our accommodation was self catering at Bacchus apartment in Enkirch. We really enjoyed our stay here and travelled along the Mosel river stopping off at the picturesque villages along the way. I would highly recommend this area for a relaxing holiday. Bicycles would be a... More

The Mosel river is a much nicer experience compared to the Rhein. It is romantic and each village has its own charm. We are a young couple, so beware there is not as much night life, but ideal for a romantic holiday. I recommend Cochem, Bernkastel and Calmont! Best wines and food!
