I travel to the Mosel Valley every year or two for 20 years. It is so slow and relaxing with so many friendly people and so many places to get a glass of wine. I stay in Mitte Mosel, towards the center in Bullay and go both directions by boat or train. I stay at the Moselperle Hotel in Bullay.

The river Cruise on the Mosel was really beautiful the scenery, cleanliness, and very friendly people at the destinations we stopped at were excellent. there are many cruises to chose from so look through them all to find which places you want to visit. We booked ours through GN cruises who were really good .We would use them again on... More

We were a Group of 27 taking the boat from Mehring to Bernkastel. Wonderful views all the way, vineyards that take your breath away by climbing skywards on the steep riversides, lovely villages, exciting locks and great river freighters passing by. The lunch was good too - and the wine is very friendly.

As part of our Viking River cruise to Koblenz we did a shore excursion along the Mosel River to a small winery. The quaint little village we visited(as an added bonus) was beautifully decorated for their wine festival. A winery that specialized in Riesling hosted our group with a wonderful tasting. The most fascinating part of the trip, however, was passing the... More

Booked with the river cruise line and the first thing we did on the return home was to write a letter of complaint. We were on "The Lady Anne" which is an older river cruiser. We were allocated a cabin 3 decks down ( very steep steps ) that was like a small broom cupboard. I paced it to have... More

Genuine people - yes, I know this because I am one of them! But I left the area 28 years ago for university/work reasons. Recently I went back again with my teen children, we stayed in a lovely pension in Treis and had a great time. My girls who grow up in a large city love the fact that you... More

Just loved the views along the river - lovely trip up into the castle at Cochem. Hard going for my husband who doesn't walk so well but all guides were patient.

First Day we drove the Father Rhein and second day we drove the Mother Mosel. Both are abundant with vineyards and steep great views, but the Mosel seemed more quiet and laid back and more accessible. Some great little towns for lunch, and some great castles as well. It's worth an afternoon drive, but go back to Koblentz for dinner... More

a very nice river. compered to rhine a small river but not less beautiful. of course you have heard about the "Deutsches Eck" where Mosel and the river Rhine flow into each other. A must see!! a beautiful spot with the view on the castle "Festung Ehrenbreitstein" on the top of the hill.
