Just came back from a 7 night cruise on the Rhine and Main Rivers on Emerald Waterways, which began in Amsterdam and ended in Nuremberg with a transfer to Munich. The ship, Emerald Sky, was built this year and had its maiden voyage in April, 2014. The service was excellent; the food was very good and the rooms were very... More

This year we thought we would try a river cruise as a change - 4 nights "all inclusive" on the Rhine with Sheerings - far cheaper than the other large ship operators but an older, smaller ship. We had read various reports about the ship including the showers and aged and took into account sheerings advise (concern) about the stairs,... More

As part of a 2-week river cruise in late April from Amsterdam to Budapest, we cruised the Rhine southbound past a seemingly unending array of castles & scenic villages. Although our weather was overcast with drizzling rain for the main stretch with castles, we were fascinated by their variety & hillside locations. The enclosed photos are only a small sample.

Overall we enjoyed our holiday, but it could have been better. The holiday was a total of 10 days, the first of which was staying at a hotel in Dover, followed by two days coach and ferry travel to Breisach with an overnight stop at Reims. The last, long day was coach and ferry travel from Koblenz back to Dover.... More

We took this cruise end of July and have never been so disappointed in all our lives. We were expecting beautiful scenery but instead got graffiti train carriages and banks of river with only trees visible. The last day of our cruise was the only time we saw the castles etc as advertised in their brochure. We were stuck at... More

Returned yesterday from a cruise on the German rivers on the Lady Anne. After reading some of the reviews on trip advisor we were very uncertain whether we had done the right thing.Very pleased to report that our concerns were unfounded. From the start to finish of our holiday we had a wonderful time. Yes the ship is old but... More

Just completed a seven day cruise by Gate 1 on the Amadeus Princess. The boat was actually owned and operated by Luftner Cruises out of Austria. The staff was excellent, the rooms were immaculate, the food was very good and the ports of call were enthralling. It was enjoyable except for the fact that WiFi was €5 per hour on-board... More

The holiday on board the 'Olympia' ship with Newmarket was fine, but we had a very uncomfortable journey on a cramped coach hired by Newmarket Travel to Passau on 26th September. This coach was not suitable for long haul travel. It had no tables on which to put food or magazine holders. The water/cup holder for my husband's seat was... More
