Visited Zoo Duisburg today. The cash desk staff did not speak any English. For a family of 5, the total we paid was very reasonable (around 24 Euros). The zoo itself is well organized but some sections were closed for maintenance. There were plenty of chairs and rest areas. In addition there was a children playground. The kids enjoyed touching... This zoo is remarkable for the Dolphin show, it is in German only but it is still enjoyable to watch even if you don't understand the language. Don't miss it. The rest of the zoo is also good, perhaps notable for mostly generously sized enclosures. This is of course good for the animals, but means a lot of walking to... More

The Zoo is just great! The sloths and lemurs walked around out of aviary, koalas were sweet and funny, all animals looked quite happy and so did the visitors. We have visited the Zoo on Saturday so it was full but there were enough space for everybody. It is easy to reach it by train. I have no doubt in... More

We have been exposed to good zoos where we live, and the Duisburg Zoo was a very good zoo. The price was economical, they had good maps to get around, and it was an enjoyable experience. We went primarily for the Dolphin Show, and we were not disappointed. It is in an amazing hall, and it is as good as... More

Very large and well organised zoo. Many exotic as well as local animals. One can also interact a lot with them. Ideal for a sunday afternoon with kids. They will love it (and parents too!)

We visited the zoo with our then 3 year old son. We paid the family ticket, which also included the entrance to the dolphin show. This zoo is much more bigger than the Cologne Zoo. So much to see. My family got the chance to feed the elephants, a wonderful experience we still cherish. The dolphin show is done in... More

Very nice atmosphere due to 3 "theme areas" Alaska, Africa and Asia. Animals have spacious, modern areas with possibilities to hide. Additional attractions available (free of charge) like a boat tour in Africa.

We were staying near Venlo just over the border in Holland and saw this on the web. Great value with or without going to the Dolphinarium, we paid about 24 Euros for a Family ticket (Familiekarte Zwei - two adults/two children). It was undergoing some improvements to the enclosures, but was still well laid out, plenty of food and drink.... More

The zoo is not too far from Dusseldorf (our start point) and can be reached through intercity connections which run every 10 minutes once. The 901 connection from Duisburg Hbf stops right in front of the zoo.. Hence easy to locate. The Zoo entrance fee is reasonable (14.50 euros) which includes fee for the Dolphin show. Dolphin show was fantastic... More
