It's funny to take a look at the Gehry-Bauten Buildings, with its pop-up windows and strange forms as if they were retrieved from a cartoon. I just wanna ask: Who could live there? There are many restaurants at the surrounding area and you can get there walking by the river from the old downtown or taking a bus from the... More

This attraction was within easy walking distance of our hotel, we spent many hours walking along the edge of the Rheine and the Media Hafen when we first saw the buildings made us say out loud, "Have we been drinking too much?" No really; modern architecture that looks stunning.

These Gehry buildings are really something special - known as the 'dancing buildings', there is a white group, a red-brick group and a sparkling silver group in the middle. All are elegantly sloping and curving like organic structures. Best to walk a bit further down the promenade past the buildings and also get the Rhine Tower in your photos.

Viewed from the comfort of one of the river cruise ships, it is an interesting perspective on a modern side of Dusseldorf. Some interesting looking buildings here.

I can't say to what is in these buildings. By the looks of it possibly hotels, restaurants, maybe apartments as well. But from the outside they are incredible to look at. What some of written as being underdeveloped, it is true, but these are not in the center of the city. This area is still being built up and these... More

This place is worth a visit to see the strange and clever architecture. Not really a day out, just a short walk around suited us. There are cafes etc. for a coffee/lunch stop.

Interesting but overrated and under development. I found the gravel area by one restaurant originally designed by an artist to have pebbles was compromised with gravel by local planners. The nail artist 80 odd years old. I went off the whole area quickly.

The Medienhafen is an interesting place to visit. It is about a half hour walk away from the center of Düsseldorf. This used to be a port, but now it has been transformed into a modern business and lifestyle area. The design of the buildings is diverse:some have the classic looks of a warehouse and others are very modern and... More
