Medienhafen- The Media harbour is as good a place to start a tour of Düsseldorf as any. It is a revamp of the old harbour and a wet dream for architecture fans. I understand architecture tours are available. The Hyatt Hotel building for example (the black jagged jobby), is very sexy. If I made films about a dystopian future (we... More

Very original and very pleasing to watch, arranged space with water channel and shores packed with marbles of architecture, as well as the rest of the city full of beautiful, modern, original and practical solutions.

Well, you could say this is the place all wacky architects love to let their imagination fly. Every building is unique and very pleasant to watch. I highly recommend taking a walk around here when in Düsseldorf.

Now wonky buildings?! Awesome! It's a great place to take a walk with the family or partner, expecially when the weather is good.

The old harbor has been turned into a trendy area with hotels, restaurants and a lot of media companies This project of city-planning has some eye-catching architecture, old renovated warehouses and a few remnants from the past like bollards and cranes. The most striking buildings are of course the 3 “dancing” buildings designed by the renowned architect Frank Gehry. We... More

Modern architecture, dancing buildings, climbing men. Lots of places to eat. Smart usage of old and uncommited spaces of old dock yard

I did read good few reviews about Media harbour. I visited it few days ago and i wasnt that impressed. Well its nice to walk around, but area is quite snobbish, full of expensive restaurants and young rich people. It didn't impress me at all.

For me this is the highlight of Dussledorf --- a walk through the varied, beautiful and strange buildings of the Medienhafen. It's about a 20 minute walk from the City Center. Decent places to eat and drink too. I like the Gehry buildings, especially the one that looks like it is wrapped in tin foil. There is another one with... More

We walked around the old Hafen (made modern) for an hour or so on Sunday morning. Nice walk, but not much open. This is normal for a German Sunday though, so as expected. Very modern area with some art installations, but they have kept some of the old harbour charm such as the cranes. Still a working harbour for leisure... More

Its amazing to see the different architectonical styles, beginning with the Gery Buildings, and following by the Hyatt Hotel and the other original buildings you can see.
