When the Germans do something, they do it properly. This 'retreat' (within 10 minutes walking distance from the Dom Messe railstation), is well worth a visit. Swimming pools, outside relax areas, cafe areas, jacuzzis and various different saunas are on offer. You must wear your bathing costume in the pool area, but none are allowed in the saunas or steam... More

Wow, this place is amazing and so affordable. It has 2 pools, indoor and outdoor. The outdoor pool has jets and a whirlpool. There are plenty of chairs for you to sit and relax, a restaurant and Spa (booking recommended). The place has steam rooms and saunas where you can choose to go nude or wrap up in a towel.... More

Why don't I do this more often? This is the thing to do on a cool and rainy day in Cologne. Claudius Therme is a beautiful large spa with a very good variety of different temperature pools and a clean and attractively designed sauna village. My personal highlights included the Dead Sea floating pool (accessible for an extra 5 €)... More

Located right under the cable car station, on the river and next to the park. We visited twice and even though it is not as large as some, it ticked all the boxes. All the usual indoor and outdoor pools and facilities. This one allows you to use all including the sauna's at no extra cost. There are a couple... More

Excellent sauna, swimming pool and restaurant venue located next to the cable car crossing over the Rhein. Also ideally located next to the Rhein Park. Dry sauna, moist sauna and steam (camphor) baths situated nicely combined with various swimming/wading pools. Also very relaxing outdoor sunning areas to cool off. Combined with the cable car crossing, walk through the park and... More

Spent a couple of hours in Cologne thermal baths. (Euro15, weekend Euro17) Lovely steam bath where you keep your swimming costume on. Enjoyed the hot pot with cloudy thermal water most. Also a great activity is the Kneip pool where you bathe your feet and dip your arms in hot and cold water. Good for your circulation and refreshing. We... More

Cologne was originally settled by Romans due in part to the thermal spring/baths here. I spent an afternoon at Claudius Therme using the "Fine Time" package. For 69 euro, I got 2 hours of swimming time in the amazing variety of warm/hot/freezing pools or the sauna area (bathing suit compulsory in pool and forbidden in sauna); a 30 minute massage... More

This is one of the best such places we have visited, with four separate areas to enjoy. The first is the spa area, with a variety of pools, jaccuzzis, bubble jets etc. both indoors and out. From here, there are three sauna areas: two outside and one inside. The indoor sauna area has a variety of different types and temperatures... More
