We saw two wonderful concerts at the Cologne Philharmonic Hall. while the concerts were magnificent, the concert Hall is wonderful too. Lovely seating arrangements which means one can see well from just about anywhere in the Hall.....and of course the acoustics were excellent. Tickets were easy to purchase just next to the concert hall.

Top-notch concert (Saraste conducting Sibelius 5th) with good seats available one day in advance in a very good hall. Looked like there were nearly constant high-quality concerts going on.

If you line up early, you can join about 1500 other people for a short, free concert by the Philharmonic. What was so great is that it is a chance to meet other locals from the area and take a break from "tourist attractions". We arrived about 45 minutes early and found great seats (first come, first chance to grab... More

what a beautiful concert hall, and a terrific performance of Brahms' German Requiem. Couldn't have been a better place to hear it. Afterwards, go upstairs to the cafe at the Museum Ludwig for after-concert drinks.

If you are into concerts make sure you stop by the ticket center and learn about their program. The acoustics is great so it doen't really matter if you get a last minute ticket at a distant seat. Before and after the concert you may have a drink at the foyer. To make a long story short, this a great... More

We were invited to listen to the last practice of an orchestral group. We found the acoustic and the architecture of the theater perfect for all the audience. Really nice!

While, the accoustics are great, the concert hall was smaller than I imagined. There was a program of new compositions that I did not particularly care for.

we went for a musical play as this attraction was so much hyped about by other travellers on the trip advisor. one we did not understand the language as it was in German. the acting and singing was very mediocre.we came out in the intermission a waste of 21 euros per person. the theater and the acoustics are good

Our tour guide let on that you could get to the Philharmonic before noon, and attend a rehearsal for free. Well, we were not the only ones who knew this - the fabulous concert hall was full, the rehearsal was fantastic, and what a treat to hear music and take a break from tourist shops and cathedrals!
