Wandering walk ways, varied plants, places to sit and just enjoy the nature in the city. The Flora is free and open late so if you just have the time go and have a calm moment there.

Next to the zoo this quite old fashioned garden is beautifully maintained with flower beds, glass houses, fountains and lakes. There was an interesting area of model vegetable gardens and also a section on commercial crops such as wheat, barley rye and others. Most of the garden was well labelled. It says 'no picnics' but we ate our sandwiches on... More

The botanical gardens of Cologne have a lot to offer. Greenhouses with succulents and tropical vegetation, delightful walkways through flower patches and lovely little parks here and there provide a beautiful setting for a day out well spent.

Lovely gardens, well maintained and an oasis in the middle of a large and busy city. The palace is resplendent and the walk through gardens are magnificent - all free of charge.

We were there in May which is a little early for a lot of color to be present but there was still quite a lot to see and we enjoyed a peaceful break from the city!

I attended a V.I.P. Party in connection with the Handball Champions League. The gardens are very nice and well kept. There were plenty of interesting flora to see. Inccluding the odd surprise. The building has just under gone 2 years of rennovation and this was the grand opening. Aparently there is a cafe that will be open to the public.... More

If you are into flowers or gardens this is a treat. It is a large and varied facility and grounds. We spent a little over an hour, you could do three times that. Take the #18 underground to Zoo/Flora, crossover the tracks and walk (away from the river) past the zoo entrance to find the gardens. Free entrance.

I spent several hours there and could have spent more. It was huge and the amazing thing to me that it was also FREE. There were several greenhouses the main one was a tropical one. there also was a formally laid out flower garden with a central fountain. There were so many flowers including tulips, and lilies. The more I... More

Stunning gardens and greenhouses, beautiful tranquil environment perfect for our picnic! Lovely pond in the middle and the big building whilst currently undergoing some renovations is a nice looking piece of architecture! A definite must visit for horticulturists and anyone keen to escape the busy city for a while! 🌲🌳🌼💐🌸🌷🍀🌹🌻🌺🍁🌼🌵
