The Botanical Gardens are easy to find, adjacent to the zoo. We were slightly disappointed with the gardens - they looked unkempt and, considering the time of year, there was a shortage of bloom.

Went with some friends for a stroll after the zoo and had a good time. Seen I don't know how many wedding parties but a great venue for that and just strolling through the 2+ greenhouses plus the acres (hectares) of well marked gardens.

This was a lovely way to spend a couple of hours in Cologne, followed by a trip over the Rhine in a cable car from the nearby terminus.

walking distance from the dom. adjacent to the zoo, skulpturepark and rheinselbahn - the ropeway. plus, once you cross the rhine on ropeway, you can walk to hohlenzoren bridge on foot through the rhinepark along the banks of rhine, and end exactly where you started. took me about 7 hours day to finish everything said above

Free admission, open 10-4 daily. North of Dom about 1 1/2 miles? There is also a zoo next door to the gardens but didn't have time to go there.

My friend lives near by, so we wondered through the park after the rain stopped. It's free entrance & a lovely park. The beautiful cafe building was closed at the time. Since it is Spring, we saw the Tulips, Hyacinths, Japanese Cherry blossoms & other spring blossoms decorating the garden. It's worth wandering through it if you're in the neighbourhood,... More

My husband and two friends of ours visited the Botanical Garden for a relaxing afternoon, and it was wonderful. The botanical garden is very large, with a lot of different areas to wander through. In the center of the garden there is a nice cafe with outdoor seating, fresh baked goods and coffee (and a bathroom). Bring a book and... More

When the sun is out this is a lovely place to be but you will not be alone. Try to go early or late for a little peace amid the huge variety of trees and plants, the tropical and sub tropical glass houses and a lively little cafe. You queue for your food and drink which they pack into a... More

The gardens are beautiful and well kept. Lots of different species of plants from all over the world. Maybe some more information about the plants would be welcome, as well as a toilet (if there is one, we didn't see it or any signs leading to it). It is slightly isolated from any restaurants so maybe consider this in case... More
