One of the most beautiful botanical gardens I've been to. Really well kept. Free entry and it's got great green houses. Well worth a visit.

The Botanical Gardens are a delight to walk through, for space, interest, wonderful selection of plants, trees and flowers and also the chance to see Herons in the little ponds and of course the sound of birds .... frogs croaking amongst the water lilies were a delight and then what I would describe as the "hot house" with a wonderful... We thoroughly enjoyed exploring the FREE botanical gardens during Winter. There were a few other visitors, but, for the most part, it was empty. It was so peaceful. However, if you are not from Europe, please be aware: DO NOT WALK ON THE GRASS! We were not aware that this was against the rules. We had a very angry German... More

The botanical gardens are the perfect escape fom the city center. A great variety of well maintained flower gardens, plants, trees and waterponts welcome the visitor and bring along memories of the lush Persian gardens of Shiraz and Esfahan.

Easily reachable by public transport. And what more, its free. Very nicely maintained garden area, water ponds, trees, etc. The restaurant is pretty interesting (self service in picnic baskets). Fun way to spend a family holiday.

As a first timer to Cologne, this garden looked a little hyped. Yes, it is a nice place to stroll with flowers around but nothing too great. If you visiting the zoo, you may like to take a peek.

Pretty, free to enter. just opposite the Zoo. Was expecting it to be bigger. But its still worth a quick walk round. Found Rheinpark more interesting.
