Just a beautiful place.

Really calm and well worth a stroll. It is just next to the Zoo and Aquarium. There is a really nice cafe in middle with an elevated view.

You will see the door of botanical garden immediately. Entrance is free and garden is beautiful. We visited for 2-3 hours on a... More

We pretty much stumbled upon the gardens and spent fantastic few hours there. The place is beautiful and diverse and the atmosphere was quiet and solitary (we visited on a Tuesday). Plenty of exotic greenhouses as well!

Drop in from the tourist bus trip. They have a great little self serve cafe where you can have a light lunch including soups, salads, hot meats and bread, beers, coffee all in alittle take away basket. Blankets and hats available for loan at no cost. A lovely spot for lunch in a quiet environment after a busy city break.... More

There are several lovely areas of garden to see as well as a nice cafe. If you visit in the Summer expect to see more than one wedding party having photographs taken!

The gardens are very well kept. Enjoyed the waterfall, tunnel of trees, and the floral designs. There is no charge and limited free parking. A beautiful walk.

It's a very flat and easy walk from the centre of Cologne, along the river's edge to the botanical gardens - about a mile. Entrance is free.. you can combine it with a visit to the zoo which is almost next door and the cable car over the river - both of these you pay for. We did the cable... More
