The location was the Gestapo headquarters of Cologne. Look into the original cells in the basement, and see an excellent overview of the on-goings during Nazi rule in Cologne.

Very interesting museum. Make sure you set aside a good amount of time as there is a lot to see and read. They have guided tours in german or you can get an english audio tour. Basement has preserved cells from the gastepo prison the building once was. Upper floors give a good history of the rise of the nazi...

This is one of the better museums I have visited that documents the dark past of Germany in the 1930s and 1940s. Very simple in design but the displays are great. Get a audio interpreter and prepare to spend some time there.

Museum about the nazi history in Köln; wourth a visit (has dungeons) and 2 very nice people who were very helpfull.
It's not going to take you a long time to visit, but it's defenitely something different. I gave it an extra point because we did the last 2km's on foot and that gives you a very nice impression of...

If you come to see the prison, this may be a bit disappointing. This part is not explained very well, although it is both in English and German. The text messages of the prisoners are impressive.
Most of the center is about the emergence and downfall of the nazi regime. All of that is only in German language, which I...

A smaller museum, but full of great information if you're interested in WW2 history. Please know that nothing on the walls is in English (only German), so if you can't read German then you should get the audio guide (3 Euro). Alot of the information is Cologne-specific; we didn't realize how important Cologne's role was in the war. A must...

When roaming Cologne, this is a great stop that makes one think about how far Germany has come, but also allows one to reflect not only on the past but also about darker side of humanity. Worth a visit!

Very informative and some touching realisations to be discovered. You could spend 8 hours there and still find things to learn about. It is slightly overwhelming though, and after about two hours it gets a little heavy and tiring. But all in all, a good experience and excellent value for money. Remember to ask for an English speaking translation headset.

All the information is in German but there is a fab audioguide for an extra euro which gives you tons of information. I actually spent 3 hours here without realising. The basement cells are very interesting and there is so much background about National Socialism and the impact on Cologne and the surrounding area. Highly recommended if you're at all...

Going down into the bowels of the building where the cells are and seeing the writing on the wall from good people who were imprisioned for nothing wrong was very moving.
