No really, you can't miss it. I have both flown into and drove into Cologne, and it's pretty much all you can see in the distance. Up close it's just amazing. You can't go to Cologne and not see the Dom, it's just impossible to do.

On my recent visit last week I was in a forty minute stopover at the train station, and so I did not have a great deal of time to be a tourist. Despite this, I have been to the cathedral before and I always leave Cologne feeling slightly less angry than I do when visiting other catholic monuments across Europe.... More

I used to love visiting the Dom as I was growing up (lived locally) and went back to Germany for the first time in 18 years in Dec 2013. Its just as I remembered, beautiful building with so much history. Also if you are thinking of visiting Koln, go during the christmas markets in december

Amazing, right in the centre if the city. They have a lot of scaffold on it at the moment but it looks stunning especially lit up at night

A really stunning building that towers over the landscape. Beautiful to look at, the view from the top is amazing as well. Be warned, it's a long trek to the top but the spectacular view is definitely worth it

This cathedral is beautiful. It is very busy! You can get a tour in your language, just look on the board as you walk in the door and it will state what time the tour is and what language it is in. Everyone in the tour gets a headset and the guide speaks through a little speaker and you hear... More

It is really impressive and a must when in Cologne. There is some building maintenance on the outside which makes it a little "reduced" as a photo object. The inside is so overwhelming that most tourists actually behave when there.

Visited while on a river cruise. The massiveness of the cathedral can only be appreciated seen in person. The sarcophagus that hold the relics of the three Magi is gorgeous. Constant repairs keep things fresh. Practice taking interior photos of stained glass windows before you go. Unbeleivable photo opportunities. Don't miss it.
