We were lucky to get tickets for an open air classical concert in the courtyard of the Palace. Great accustics, fine soloist! Wonderful evening.

We would consider this to be the second attraction in Bonn, after the Beethovenhaus, from a historical perspective. If you have any interest in understanding something about the history of Bonn and the role of the archbishops of Cologne, then you should devote at least a little time to a visit. Between 1597 and 1794, Bonn was the capital of... More

Pretty building in a very pretty part of bonn. Nice when the sun is out as the colors are best then. I found the surrounding neighbourhood very nice to walk through. Overall a nice spot for a short visit

...it makes it a wonderful experience! During the pause, you can sip on your champaigne and walk around the garden... you won't regret it!

It's a great place for a walk, lay a blanket on the green and lazily watch people walk by. The avenue leading up to the Palace has a small bookshelf where people can drop books and pick a new one up.

We visited on the hottest day of a year and the palace is closed due to a renovation despite the garden. However, it's a pleasant walk along the path to give us a bit of shades away from the sun. There's a little car park nearby but it's still easy enough to park in the centre of the town and... More

I can't really review Poppelsdorf Palace as we drove there, and couldn't find any parking anywhere near it. Might be something to bear in mind if you are visiting with a car. It looked nice from the outside though!

The best way to visit this buildings is to approach on foot down the Poppelsdorf Allee. This is a beautiful wide road with very little traffic and an area of grass in the middle. The palace is at the end and the allee goes on and on with the palace gradually becoming bigger.
