Bonn Minster (also known as the Basilica of St Martin) is an imposing building in central Bonn. It was built between the 11th & 13th centuries and although it may be an architectural gem of its time I personally found it quite an unattractive church externally, rather heavy and dull. However, we thought we'd take a look inside and were... More

Very close to the Dom, you can find another great place to see and enter, discovering another great vision of this city. Near the Rhine and in the old city, you can find it perfectly located between the old buildings. once inside I was lucky to assist a celebration, wich was very beautiful and peaceful. Don't miss.

Beautiful church with friendly guides and exciting treasure chamber. Nice brochures to take home. Highly recommend it.

The church is very friendly, but slightly disorienting, as it operates on different levels, and you can't see everything from any one position. Well worthwhile exploring the different chapels and details, there are lots of surprises hidden away from Roman sculpture to some great modern windows.

sad to say but after awhile they all start looking a bit alike. Nice to visit but nothing really stood out.

On first stepping in it seemed a bit austere compared to some but there was much to explore and have explained. Crypt worth a visit but, because it was Holy Week, it was only open for prayer. Fair enough - it IS a church after all.

One can notice the roman style of the church, and feel a bit of the history of Bonn inside. Try to look for the music concerts at the Basilica. Great experience, always.

This is a beautiful church I went to Sunday Mass there and the organ has the most wonderful sound. Behind the altar there are some beautiful stained glass windows and at the side some lovely murals.

Exterior looks nice, but as soon as you enter you feel awe ... Usually the stained glass windows let colorful play of light in the interior. Probably the dull overcasted weather, added to the dark atmosphere and the rather "uncomfortable" feelings as soon as you enter. I saw a group using a side-door and followed them to the enclosed back-yard.... More

This church is a beautiful architecture which attracted me right at the first sight. I came inside the church and felt really feared. It was rather dark, but I liked this, a mystical atmosphere. Many people were in the same feeling with me. We all loved the church.
