I wandered in here today, partly because I had the Bonn Regio Welcome Card (so it was free) and partly because I had to go the bathroom and partly because I wanted to visit ONE of the museums on the Museum Mile and didn't want to pay the extra to go into the Art Museum next door. All that said,... More

The Art and Exhibition Hall of the Federal Republic of Germany is well-known for its excellent varied programme of exhibitions, i.e. the current one "African Masters - Art from the Ivory Coast". It is a forum for Art and Communication, international and cosmopolitan. The architecture is great: 3 iconic cones, designed by the Viennese architect Gustav Peichl. Visiting Bonn you... More

It is difficult to review a Museum that only has temporal exhibitions. I went to the Florenz and Villa Romana exhibition. It was very good, with paintures and objects are originally from Florence but they are currently exhibit in some of the major Art Museums in the world including the Ufizzi Gallery. This was the last week, though, so next... More

We go almost every year to one of the very nice exhibitions in Bonn. this time it was better because the text was not only in German, but also in English. if the catalogue had been availab le in English I would have bought it, but although we can read German, it's not always that easy, so the 39€ was... From ancient Egypt to Hollywood the exhibit explores the legend of Cleopatra with hieroglyphics, artist impressions, theater, music, and garden flowers. Somehow it all works to make for a wonderful experience at the museum. The garden on the roof top is lovely with lots of fragrance.

The staff at the Kunstmuseum suggested to also visit the Cleopatra exhibition next door in the Kunsthalle, so we did. But after the intellectually challenging journey trough the history of 20th century German art in the former, the latter proved to be a lightweight. The exhibition consisted out of a thematic collection of several items and pictures centering around the... More

Great location which usually has excellent shows. The exhibition about the Irokese Indians however, though interesting, lacks somewhat in the experience quality. The topic no doubt is attractive for children, unfortunately the way the items are displayed relies heavily on written text for context. The long house is the exception and, especially when the weather is warm, offers a very... More

Went to the Kunsthalle to see the exhibition " Treasures of the World's Cultures" from the British Museum. It consists of more than 250 of the finest objects from the British Museum, selected to give an overview of two million years (!!) of world culture and history. The exhibits, which range from Olduvai gorge stone tools to modern art from... More
