This museum has a lot of information about Beethoven's life. There is also a show about seeing music and it also tells a story.

Even children who might take piano lessons will find this original site, birthplace of Ludwig van Beethoven, a fascinating place to visit. Original instruments, music written in the composer's original handwriting, the very tools this great composer had to use to enhance what was left of his dwindling hearing - even the small, second-storey room where he was born ...... This could be so much more interesting. With more visual and auditory displays Beethoven' s life and music could come alive.

The one thing that struck me after having wandered through all the various rooms of Beethovens house was that I didn't hear any music. Surely this is what should be celebrated here. The only sound you'll hear as you go from room to room is from the squeaky floorboards. I believe that it is possible to get an audio tour guide... More

Travelled all the way from Dusseldorf to visit the house of Beethoven but it was closed for renovation-improvements or whatever and it was blocked by a construction site. Waste of time!

Beethoven House ..... first visit was when I was still at school in Bonn. I took my family there on their first visit to my home town a couple of years ago. Anybody who loves the music of this Genius must go in and have a look around. I too will go back ..... one day.

I think we were expecting more when we entered the house and it was a bit disappointing that there was not much english information for us to know what the items were in the glass cases.

Kudos to the association which saved Beethoven's birthplace from demolition. But as other reviewers have stated here, much of the commentary in the house was dedicated to the association, not to Beethoven. Some suggestions: 1. Clear signage. We walked past the place twice before we realised where it was. We couldn't see a sign to the entrance of the museum.... More

I like classical music and it is always interesting for me to learn more about composers and musicians, but I left this place knowing no more about Beethoven than I had learnt before. I guess that for some visiting hose of Beethoven alone and seeing some of instruments he used to play is enough to justify the price of the... More
