This house is very small and it is an old school type of museum, not at all what it could be given the advances of modern technology. Consequently, it is likely to appeal to people who are already Beethoven fans, but seems unlikely to win any new converts to his fabulous music. The house does deliver a sense of what... More

Worth the trip from Cologne, nice little museum displaying part of Beethoven's life. Polite and attentive staff and beautifully restored pieces

Easy to find while on a lovely afternoon walking tour of Bonn, we stopped here. Well work an hour or so. The Gift Shop is very pleasant and leave 15 minutes to shop, there !

I have to say I enjoyed the audio tour, a lot to know. But, you can't see anything originally in the house there, it's turned to a museum and everything are displaying in German. If you don't know German or don't buy an audio tour, little to enjoy. The worst experience there is the woman who sits at reception and... More

It was the house he was born and lived until 22y.o. Once inside you get transported to Beethoven's world and music. It isn't allowed to take photos inside, except of the garden. The souvenir shop has interesting articles and a large choice of classical music Cds at interesting prices.

Beethoven was born in a room in the back attic. In the late 1800's the building was going to be torn down. A group bought it and turned it into a museum. As such, it's an old house with a handful of interesting artifacts. Nice but mostly for Beethoven buffs. Take a guided tour or audio tour for additional details.

But once you realize what it's near it makes sense (like anything). Nice shop and for any musical history buff a must see while in Bonn.

A small place where Beethoven lived when he was small. It is a real home because it did not make itself fully into a museum-like visitor spot. An experience for Beethoven lovers.
