This is an impressive MUST SEE. I am a history buff and really love the Holy Roman Empire, especially the early years and this is where it all began! I can highly recommend the tour (there is a fee for the tour) in order to see as much of the Cathedral as possible. Just seeing the Cathedral without the tour... More

Such an opulent Cathedral! Dripping in gold, amazing mosaic ceilings, in fact my honest opinion is that there is so much Gold here, I wonder could they not just sell a tiny amount?, it would go a long way to feed the poor. Yes it is historic, yes it is beautiful, but my Oh my it is such a waste!

The Dom is a beautiful building steeoed in history. The interior is splendid. I visited after the 9 am mass and it was not too busy. A visit to the Dom is a must.

Very much an attraction - lacked the presence of other religious buildings/churches - a little too much of a tourist attraction

Words simply cannot describe how beautiful this cathedral is, steeped in history and packed with wonderful features. It really is not to be missed! The dom shop/info sells the tickets for the treasures, as they are exhibited there, and guided tours can be booked there. However, as we went to the Cathedral first, we were unaware of these tours, until... More

This is an AMAZING Cathedral and built up in tiers like a huge golden tiara. The arches and the circular building just shines with gold, gilt and jewels, and yet devout pilgrims also attend services behind the altar, and retreats are commonplace. The Cathedral was visited by Pope Benedict and there is nothing not to like. If you have mobility problems,... More

I visited the ancient Aachen (Aquisgrana) last month with a friend and we made a stop to the Cathedral one of the most important tourist attractions of the city. We remained very impressed by the big build and by the attentions to details like the biggest glass window behind the principal altar. Inside the Cathedral is also possible to see... More
