As part of our cruise, we had the option of staying in Warnemunde, or taking a 6 hour round trip train ride into Berlin. We opted to spend those 6 hours in Warnemunde with a fabulous tour guide named Dave, and have been thrilled with that decision ever since! Dave, an American now living in Germany for the past 18... Just 2 others besides the two of us spent a terrific day in the company of our guide Andreas. The morning was spent walking around Warnemunde, the seaside resort adjoining Rostock, taking in seeing tall ships (arriving for upcoming 4 day festival), architecture old (Alter Strom's captain and fisherman houses) and new (Lighthouse with the unique roofed 'Teapot' building next... What an amazing tour! Dave made the day fun and interesting from the first moment until the last. Please believe all of the reviews on here because they are all correct. An outstanding day was had by all, and Dave is definitely now my friend!

Dave's trip is by far the best trip I had during my 11 day cruise trip on Royal Princess. Dave backed his trip with non-stop information on the history and local culture. The quiet canal in Wiswar, the amazing St Nicholaus' church, the Russian black beer at lunch, all left wonderful memories to me. I'd recommend Dave to anyone.

We went on a short walking tour of Warnemunde earlier this month with Andreas and we really enjoyed it. He was friendly, very knowledgeable and covered the tour at a really good pace. Warnemunde is a small town and we didn't really think there was much to see there apart from a pretty church, but Andreas' knowledge and his presentational... More

On the plus side, Dave is a very engaging, entertaining and learned fellow. The day was well organized with an initial walking tour through part of Warnemunde, then Wismar, and lastly Schwerin. The lunch in Wismar was very good as were the pastries in Schwerin. The castle in Schwerin was really magical and made for great photos. Dave uses a... More

We booked this tour thinking that Germany would be the least interesting of all the stops on our 9 day Baltic tour. It was the exact opposite. I'm sure the tour led by Dave is good - as attested to below - but there is no way it is better than Andreas' Tour. He lends a personal perspective of having... More

We booked the Straddling the Wall tour with Andreas and got more than we expected. Andreas speaks perfect English (from his days as an au pair in Michigan) and his perspective on life in Germany today as compared to what it was like in East Germany is priceless. I am sure Dave’s Magical Mecklenberg tour is great but we wanted... More

Booked this tour in advance of our recent Baltic cruise. It more than delivered. Dave is a truly great tour guide -- he loves what he does, he knows great history and tells a great story, and he thinks of everything a guest could want. On top of that, he is very funny. Exploring an area with him is so... More

Dave's tour was sold out, so we ended up with Andrea's Straddling the Wall Tour at Warnemunde and Rostock, the overflow. Andreas describes his experiences growing up in East German Warnemunde - which lends an interesting perspective. Although we enjoyed the tour, I thought it way too expensive at 120 euros plus tip, ($150 plus tip), when Dave's tour is... More
