coool. if like us viting in the winter, make sure to keep hat and gloves on. Interesting tombs along the walls. Large detailed cathedral windows from different eras. The woodcarvings were very interesting as they are different from ours (swedish). All in all well worth a visit for both young and young.

A nice protestant Cathedral, located in the city center. It was orignially a Catolic Cathedral, and the decor was changed during the reformation. A site to visit while in Schwerin.

This is the highest elevation of Schwerin. The main altar is a medieval altarpiece with a stone centrepiece with a crucifixion scene and the Passion and carved wood figures from the 15th century. There is a tomb of Duke Christof and his wife, alabaster reliefs of biblical scenes,14th century glass paintings, stained-glass windows and the sarcophagi of the ducal family.... More

Visited this lovely church at the end of August. The highlight is the views from the tower over the city.

When I visited the cathedral I was impressed by the grandeur ,but had the feeling that it was somewhat neglected and needed more funds for its upkeep. The church is well woth a visit.

While in our visit to Schwerin, we stopped for a short visit of this Cathedral. The red-brick building is quite impressive and dominates the main square, where you will notice the mixt of old and modern architecture, making the visit even more interesting. I am not too sure when this Cathedral was built but inside, there is a sign indicating... More

We enjoyed visiting the church - it is beautiful inside. We opted to climb the 220 steps to the top of the bell tower and enjoyed the views (and the exercise). It's worth the 1 Euro (I think that's the cost). The interior is gorgeous - the detail on the ceiling and the organ are just two things worth seeing.

This castle is located overlooking the Schwerin Lake and ground. It is a good example of upscale living in the 1600's.

Amazing vaulted interiors, stain glass windows and crypts. Lots of photo opportunities. Close to a nice town square as well.

As others have mentioned, this is only a short distance from the castle, so it's worth a short stop while you're here. I liked the light airy feel of the building. It's free, although a 1 Euro donation is recommended. For 2 Euros more, you can climb the tower, which we did. You actually enter the cathedral from the side.... More
