We only took a walk around the Castle in the Garden. It is very nice from the outside, place on the small Island in the lake, and the garden surrounding the Castle is very beautiful and interesting.

Each room is so richly different inside, and outside is as gorgeous with the gardens looking out to the water, which was so peaceful.

Really beautiful palace, also the garden (orangerie) Throne room is very impressive. It would be nice to see more items owned by the royale family.

I had the chance to visit the castle at Schwerin and it is truly a dream. The main castle was built in 1100 and there have been various additions to it on the grounds. What is outstanding are the gardens and little cloves that one can escape to but one can also sit out in the open, take in the... More

This is a landmark monument and the most visited in Schwerin. This multi-towered construction of the Mecklenburg rulers sits beautifully on an island and is crowned by a golden dome. We saw the Court of Honour, Schlossgarten, Orangerie and the Castle Museum. A tour of the Castle Rooms and Halls should not be missed. They were the Grand Ducal Family's... More

The village of Schwerin is very great, it is a bit small but the Casttle with the gardens and the lake is awesome. We had a very beautiful day there and of course we will back. The Casttle is in perfect conditions and you cannot stop to find very good places to take very good pictures. Totally recomended.

Because we didn't want to take a six hours round trip from Rostock to Berlin, we decided to visit the Schwerin Castle and Rostock instead. We took a short train from the pier in Warnemunde to Rostock. Trains depart Warnemunde every 15 minutes (at 03, 18, 33 & 48 mins past the hour) throughout the day, everyday. We then got... More

The main attraction of Schwerin this beautiful castle is well worth visiting. The grounds are very prettily planted and the unusual mix of architectural facades makes for a fairytale Disney-esque aesthetic, fit to please any romantic. The state rooms are well maintained and offer an insight into the original usage of the building.

The city of Schwerin is absolutely beautiful with a magnificent castle on the coast of Schwerin Lake. The castle is full of art and artifacts and situated among fabulous gardens, sculptures and fountains. The town is quaint, clean and has many interesting shops and restaurants. This is a most pleasant place to spend a day touring and learning the history... More
