A very beautiful attraction but with a very high price in relevance to other attractions (f.e in Lubeck) which have much more to show. Also, it worths to be seen by people attracted by fine arts, as there are many portairts of imperators and imperatrices. At least 1.5-2 hours needed to observe each item. Two floors to be seen. Yet,... More

I only had a short time in Schwerin, so just went for a walk in the gardens around the castle. It's an impressive building, and looks great in its setting next to the lake. The gardens were well cared for, even in late December, and it was a very enjoyable place to visit. If I had more time I would... More

The castle is quite beautiful and the location is stunning: on a lake. Too bad that the town is ugly, but the castle is worth seeing. Even during the winter is nice.

This beautiful castle is certainly worth a visit. Set on an island in the town centre, this is one of the most imposing and beautiful castles you can imagine. We visited on a very cold winters day so we didn't go around the gardens but heard straight inside. The six euro fee is worth every cent. The display panels are... More

We only took a walk around the Castle in the Garden. It is very nice from the outside, place on the small Island in the lake, and the garden surrounding the Castle is very beautiful and interesting.

Each room is so richly different inside, and outside is as gorgeous with the gardens looking out to the water, which was so peaceful.

Really beautiful palace, also the garden (orangerie) Throne room is very impressive. It would be nice to see more items owned by the royale family.

I had the chance to visit the castle at Schwerin and it is truly a dream. The main castle was built in 1100 and there have been various additions to it on the grounds. What is outstanding are the gardens and little cloves that one can escape to but one can also sit out in the open, take in the... More
