This is one of Germany's most beautiful if not THE most beautiful city park. Paved and gravel walkways. The Eilenriede city forest area covers xxx sqmiles. Playgrounds and BBQ areas can be found throughout. Bicyclists will find non-cracked paved bikeways to speed up, skaters too. A truly place for recreation.

I grew up near the Eilenriede and every time I get back to Hannover I stroll through that beautiful City Park! It's just as beautiful as Central Park in New York! I have so many found memories of the Eilenriede!!

Not sure how you go about reviewing an urban forest! We were here in the autumn. It's easy to walk to from the city centre, and seems to stretch for miles. Lots of trails through the woods. Quite a few joggers and cyclists so stay alert if you are birdwatching! Lots of birdlife, and feels as if you are miles... More

Every time I am in Hannover either on business or leisure, I have to visit the Eilenriede. Normally staying at the Kleefelder Hof Hotel, it just takes 3 minutes across the main road to start jogging or running. If I have more time, I drive up the the main entrance (near the Eilenriede Hotel). At the entrance there is an... More

I've walked it in summer heat, and I've walked the Eilenreide when my tracks in the snow would have made me easy to follow. It is a wooden area not far from Weisse Kreuz (White Cross) area near the Listermeile. You can see all at one visit. Plan to spend at least a half day to see everything. Go to... More

The perfect place to enjoy the fresh air and to relax after a stressful day of work. Situated in the middle of the city and near the Zoo is an oase of fresh air and nature smells. You can enjoy it by bike or walking as there are a lot of bike tracks and plenty of space for everyone. A... More

This is a beautiful spot to go for a walk, or ride your bike, and is also one of the most serene places in Hannover to go and relax for a chat with friends. There are parts of the forest where you cannot even hear traffic. At night you can visit one of the many clearings within the forest and... More
