If you are in Hannover on business, take a half day off to visit the Sprengel Art Museum. The permanent collection has many great works of the Classical Modern period, and the interior of the newly opened wing is certainly interesting architecturally. After 2 hours, take a break in the Italian restaurant overlooking the Maschsee. If you have time, stroll... More

Admission is free on Fridays. Has a few pieces worth seeing but nothing which can not be missed. Highly recommend a visit if one has time on a Friday.

By the time we had seen everything on the basement floor - including the Picassos - we were flagging, so we didn't see the temporary exhibition - and felt sorry afterwards that we'd missed it. There is a restaurant, but it was posher than we'd expected for a museum cafe.

Located on the lake in Hannover this wonderful modern art museum offers the visitor an great space to view art. I saw the Lautrec exhibition here which was truly memorable. Being free on Fridays also makes this a must see as the price is very agreeable.

A nice collection of modern art, very nice big rooms and not too crowded, the kids activities on the top floor are great for young children.

The Sprengel does excellent exhibits. When we went there last month they had several, including one I did not want to leave of late-19th and early-20th century advertising art, which included a number of very famous artists. Right now they are working on a addition to the museum -- to enable it to offer even more. I also recommend eating... More

This collection of mostly modern German art is very well worth seeing. Probably the best collection of its sort in Europe. Well laid out and not too expensive admission. A lovey terrace café/restaurant.

We went not knowing much about the gallery or indeed Hannover but were pleasantly surprised. The exhibition space is massive, do set yourself a couple of hours as its huge and so much to see. There are some great pieces in the permanent exhibition space. We didn't realize the size of it so had to skip some rooms as we... More
