We went not knowing much about the gallery or indeed Hannover but were pleasantly surprised. The exhibition space is massive, do set yourself a couple of hours as its huge and so much to see. There are some great pieces in the permanent exhibition space. We didn't realize the size of it so had to skip some rooms as we... More

Had very little time to visit the museum after a splendid lunch in the cafe! But it's beautifully designed and laid out.

An impressive collection of artists (including Picasso, and Max Ernst) and when we visited there was an exhibition called, "We Love Britain", by Martin Parr.

The Sprengel museum is located close to the central lake, I visited on a friday and the museum entrance was free of charge. I love the visual illusion demonstrated in some of the rooms but the dark room really got me because it was an experience in blindness. Though I am not an art person There are other exhibitions which... More

This museum houses a number of artworks and showcase different paintings styles, including a number of pieces from Pablo Picasso. Nice place to spend part of an afternoon in.

I went along in May 14, to see the Michael Raedecker exhibition, which I thoroughly enjoyed, although I did have the gallery to myself. I also enjoyed seeing the James Turrell with four light installations. As a previous reviewer said, enjoyed the beauty in peace, looking forward to coming back.

We only had access to a small part of the entire museum, don't know why there was only a small exhibition, which also seemed pretty basic. There were one or two pieces from famous artists, but mostly nothing really exciting. The best part was a book we bought with moving pictures from the gift shop.

The Sprengel Museum houses a superb collection of works by Kurt Schwitters, along with a must-see reconstruction of one room of Schwitters' Hannover Merzbau and a vast Kurt Schwitters archive. There is also a reconstruction of El Lissitzky's Abstract Cabinet that is well worth a visit. The museum itself seems a bit daunting at first, as the prevalence of concrete... More

This is a gallery museum that gives you a very German feeling. But there were artworks of Andy Warhol, Niki de Saint Phalle, Max Ernst and Kurt Schwitter. The gallery is not far from the city center. It is not crowded and noisy as the major museums. Which kind of gives you chance to enjoy the beauty in peace. I... More

We ended up in Hannover a bit by accident, escorting our son to visit a friend. My husband and I decided to spend the rainy morning hours at the Sprengel. My husband is a huge fan of modern art; I have interest more than love in the form. What I enjoyed on this morning was the fact that the curation... More
