An excellent natural history section with lots of fossils and stuffed animals and birds showing the diverse fauna of the past. Lots of time to explain things to small children. The exhibits are well laid out and not overcrowded. The art section was not so interesting, not my taste in art and boring for my son.

This museum is divided in 3 sections: - First floor: Natural History. Aquariums, then stuffed animals from Germany and the world, and finally fossils and dinosaurs. - Second floor: Human history. Starting with human Evolution (from Australopithecus to Homo Sapiens), followed by prehistoric and Antiquity artifacts from Lower Saxony. Finally, exhibits about different parts of the world (Peru, Polynesia, Java,... More

I enjoyed visiting the museum. It is a wonderful place to visit and see the old art in the city of Hannover.

I was more interested in the aquarium downstairs than in the painting upstairs, but they weren't boring. It is a funny mixture of nature and art, of history and biology, very interesting. I cannot think of another place like this. It is cheap so it's worth a look. I am only sorry I didn't manage to see the "Mann von... More

Painting from every period and genre of European art - an art historian's paradise. For a Londoner, the experience of being quite alone in this vast collection was a bit unnnerving! Very nice cafe.

Not knowing quite what to expect, we were very pleasantly surprised by the range of artists and sculptors on display. As well as seeing many very talented artists whose names i didn't recognise, there was an interesting collection of many that I did e.g. Monet, Sisley and Rubens

I visited during the Royals In Hannover exhibition which was excellent. The only negative was the font size was too small for the number of people trying to read the information.

This is an interesting museum where the ground floor features a number of marine fish tanks and sections on dinosaurs, birds and reptiles. Of these the fish tanks are the most popular with kids. You would have thought that you have entered into a small scale aquarium in Hannover. The first floor features a number of art pieces and coins... More

This is a landmark musuem. Too bad few people outside of Hannover seem to know about it. We just went to a major exhibition about the Hannovarian Kings who ruled but this area of Germany and England. Superb -- so well done. The whole museum is excellent, and because it's relatively unknown in a country with so much to see,... More
