The garden is close to the city area and easily accessible via bus and tram. The garden is big and while beautiful, it may be better to come during spring and summer where the flowers are in full bloom. The price of the entrance ticket is on the high side and includes the Biergarten across the road. There seemed to... More

We liked the whole area, gardens, buildings and especially the plant centre opposite which had numerous orchids and exotic plants to look at. We spent the whole day there as the gardens were so big and the fountains were wonderful to see in action . The combi ticket is value for money. The cafe / restaurant inside the house is... More

Maybe I am too young or something to appreciate this, but this place is basically a nice garden - a very well maintained, pretty and large garden - yet, just a garden. The fountains were not running when I was there, I suspect this might have made it a bit cooler.

This is a great place to visit on a nice day. Short drive or easy train ride from the airport. Elegant grounds with statues and well maintained flower beds. The grotto area was spectacular! After my 4 hours there was a Biergarten to enjoy a beer and take in scenery again.

These gardens are well worth a visit especially during spring and summer. They are well laid out and have first class displays. We would go again without hesitation.

Extensive, many fountains, very formal. Don't forget to go to the botanical gardens across the road.

I've been to many formal gardens around Europe. This particular example is one of the best I've ever seen. The fountains are fantastic and, while I am no expert on formal gardens, these have to be among the best in Europe.

The topiary, the roses, the fountains, the tranquility. The best however is the grotto, a modern twist on a very old artificial cave

We went to this exhibition at Herrenhausen which covered the political situation with the Act of Settlement and found it fascinating. We then toured the wonderful gardens and would highly recommend it. Herrenhausen has just been rebuilt after it was destroyed in the war.

A visit to Hannover would not be complete without a visit to Herrenhausen with its palace and gardens. At €8 for adult entry this is excellent value which includes the Palace, museum, main garden and botanical garden across the road. You can get an audio guide in English for the Palace museum - included in the price for entry -... More
