It is a wonderful place to visit especially in the spring or summer. The gardens are very well kept and it is a joy to walk the grounds.

The Old Castle and grounds have been fully refurbished with a lot of TLC! The main gardens and Botanic gardens DO have an admission fee - a December visit did NOT warrant this. It was still an enjoyable visit, and the walk outside of the moat, was still an exercise to be cherished.

Try to visit there on a Saturday specially in summer. Four Saturdays in summer there will be fireworks competition in the evening. With the firework ticket you can visit the garden the whole afternoon and then enjoy the firework, it is just awesome. Even if you do not buy the ticket for firework, if you would be around the garden... More

I think we probably visited at the worng time of the year. Interesting and extensive formal gardens but not much in bloom in October. A variety of lakes and water channels but not much birdlife to excite the visiting birder. Easy to get to from the city centre by tram. Some interesting sculpture and art. I expect it's lovely in... We went there in autumn but it was still beautiful. You can take great photos especially in the afternoon. I think here is the best place to see in Hannover.

This garden is very beautiful. You can feel and touch the green especially in summer anyway in winter this garden has not the look like the summer or spring.

The garden is close to the city area and easily accessible via bus and tram. The garden is big and while beautiful, it may be better to come during spring and summer where the flowers are in full bloom. The price of the entrance ticket is on the high side and includes the Biergarten across the road. There seemed to... More

We liked the whole area, gardens, buildings and especially the plant centre opposite which had numerous orchids and exotic plants to look at. We spent the whole day there as the gardens were so big and the fountains were wonderful to see in action . The combi ticket is value for money. The cafe / restaurant inside the house is... More

Maybe I am too young or something to appreciate this, but this place is basically a nice garden - a very well maintained, pretty and large garden - yet, just a garden. The fountains were not running when I was there, I suspect this might have made it a bit cooler.

This is a great place to visit on a nice day. Short drive or easy train ride from the airport. Elegant grounds with statues and well maintained flower beds. The grotto area was spectacular! After my 4 hours there was a Biergarten to enjoy a beer and take in scenery again.
