Remarkable memories of visiting the gardens in the night . I was thrilled by the fountains of water and light in the darkness. Missing Mr. Nyman music and I would have felt as if in the movie The Draughtsman's Contract by Peter Greenway ;-). Cool experience.

A must see for lovers of ancient garden architecture. Botanic plant houses are closeby. It takes hours to walk the entire area. Nice ancient statues of roman gods and gladiators.

We visited the Grosser Garten and the Berggarten then walked back to the city centre through the Georgengarten. The latter is just open parkland. We didn't bother with the museum. I found the gardens a bit lack lustre compared with others in France. The white 'sculptures' were very garish and spoiled the clean lines of the green hedging.

A great place to go for a walk on a beautiful day. Well worth the entry fee. Just walk around and enjoy the scenery and peacefulness.

We visited the formal garden which was kept very neatly. We missed the working of the fountains because they work only on certain hours. We also went over the other side of the road where the garden much more informal, but has a lot of signs telling you the names of the plants.

Im not big fan of nature, but the place was absolutely beautiful, very impressive botanical gardens, the museum next to it is quite boring but the gardens are worth your time in Hannover.
