It is a very pleasant walk around the Marschsee. At a guess, it probably about 7km around. Walk is flat.

This is a small lake but has its own charm. There is a cafe located in Courtyard Marriott where you could grab a drink and sit down by the lake side to enjoy the breeze and look at the scenery. Nice place to spend some time sipping a coffee or beer.

Definitely this is not some beautiful natural lake, like, for example, the lake at Steinhude, a hour or so north of Hannover. But it's an amazing feat of engineering (during the Nazi era) and a great place to walk around.

A large lake within easy walking distance of the city centre of Hannover. Plenty of places to enjoy the local beers and food. Walks round the lake, boat trips on the lake etc. But when I was there in mid August it was packed with people. Almost impossible to move. Very noisy and long queues for everything. So fairly disappointing... More

One of the touristic places very close to new City Hall. The festival was too crowded but enjoyable. It would be very nice if visitors keep the places cleaner.

Sorry if that sounds negative as I know the locals view the Maschsee festival as a big event in the social calendar but heres the reason for the title. We walked around the lake in the morning and thought it was lovely. Took us a little over 75 minutes at a steady stroll but there are plenty of side patha... More

It is a big nice artificially created lake, surrunded by lustful vegetation, nice bars and restaurants .You can even take a round trip on a glass boat.Refreshing place to avoid the high Summer weather

This lake is used by locals to learn how to sail. Its also right next to the modern art museum. A good meeting point, but very overcrowded (no place to sit) and ever so noisy with kids screaming everywhere. Ice cream and hot dogs the only refreshment available.

I spend my childhood here in Hannover and many great times on the Maschsee Lake! It's still a beautiful place to relax , I especially enjoy the parks where you can take long walks and find many Biergarten to have a refreshment.
