We spent a couple of hours around the museum. There isn't lots on any one subject but the bits are interesting.

Great range of exhibitions and for sure something of anybody's interests. If you want to learn about the city, the people and the history of it, then this is the place to go. Plenty of great information from the first settlers, medieval times, WW I and WW II. Highly recommended.

This museum offers a good range of exhibitions to interest everyone. Excellent use of photographs, paintings, posters as well as the exhibits give an interesting & good picture of various times in German history.

The exhibition about the links between England and Hannover was informative if a bit limited to George IV. The display of coaches was interesting. There was plenty of information in English as well as an English audio-guide. Other parts of the museum were not so well-served but we managed and learnt a lot about Hannover and the Home Front 1914-1918.... More

A very good local history museum with some interesting displays of local life and a section about WW2. There was a temporary exhibition on carriages when we visited which was excellent.

My main disappointment was that, although we were given free audio handsets in English to learn about the various items, there seemed a limited number of exhibits that were actually available for translation. It all seemed very spacious and showed some good models of the town; there is a section on the ground floor about WW2 and photos of the... More

Relics of the Hannoverian Kings and their relationship to Queen Victoria and many other English kings are housed here. The chariot of the King of Hannover is there as is an historical overview of German history with a Hannoverian flavor. It does not take long but it can take as long as you would like. There are excellent displays of... More
