When I lived in Braunschweig we would always go to the ice cream place on the second level. Hands down the best ice cream I've ever had. It was a quick walk from school and I could get supplies, clothes, or a cheap meal.

Very impressive facade, but it's just that. It's a huge modern shopping mall. Which was ok, but not what I thought I was going to see. Everyone seemed pleasant, and helpful. Well, the women were. The men were "too busy" I guess, or didn't speak enough english to feel comfortable to communicate. Don't forget to keep .50 euros in case... More

It's a very impressive building when you stand in front of it but in fact it's only the façade of the former palace of the Braunschweig Herzogs. It was damaged beyond repair during WWII and was comletely demolished in 1960. You can hardly miss it as it is in the middle of town but it is no longer much of a "Schloss". It is nowadays but a big shopping arcade
