Picnic

Beautiful look in a nice area, right in front of the Kurpark, where you can have a picnic while looking at this nice theater.

A beautiful theater inside and out. I would definitely go to a performance if you can. The tickets are very affordable and there isn't a bad seat in the house. There is a wide selection of performances too and some are in English.

This turn-of-the-century theatre is one of the most spectacular in Germany. If you have a chance to see a performance while in Wiesbaden you are in for a treat. The acoustics are terrific and you will enjoy yourself immensely.

I have been inside many European opera houses and this one is the most ornate that I have ever seen on the inside. Imagine being inside a Faberge egg. Still outside the front of the theater is very plain as it was damaged during WWII but the back and side of the theater is reminiscent of the glory days before... More

We came here to see a performance of Lohengrin. The performance was okay, but the opera house is very impressive. I like the details of the building, very beautiful.

We went to see a performance of Candide in the Opera house, and it was such a lovely evening . The staging and the production were excellent. The opera house itself was so pretty and felt like we stepped back in time. A great experience that I would recommend to anyone.

If in Wiesbaden you MUST make sure you take time to visit the State Theatre and Opera House. Last month we enjoyed a performance of La Boheme and previously had been to the ballet there. The opera house is a magnificent building and the bar area at interval time is truly amazing.

If you are into opera, stage plays, or any other staged presentations, then this is the place for you. The old-world charm oozes from every corner from the foyer to the stage. It's great.

I attended the theatre for a piano recital and was pleased to find the acoustic was excellent. The interior of the theatre is well worn but still very attractive and there's a pleasingly intimate atmosphere. I would imagine going to see an opera in these surroundings would be a great experience.
