We came here while we were in Wiesbaden, and we attended “An Ideal Husband” in German in the small hall. And we were not only impressed by the performance of the play and the set but the interior of the building is very striking, the foyer is very ornate and pictures don't do really do it justice. Before the plays... More

Wiesbaden residents and visitors are fortunate to have the Hessen State Theater and its rich annual program of operas, concerts, ballets, and plays. While the grandly ornamented venue only occasionally attracts big name performers, the ticket prices are generally fair and affordable, and the quality of the productions is quite impressive, even if the sets and costumes sometimes suggest budgetary... I speak English, with some German and some Spanish. Not that good at other languages, I was hesitant to attend a performance. My dear friend enticed me here, and I will be forever thankful! This experienced was a challenge to return repeatedly, as I fully enjoyed the evening! I have now attended four Operas, and may never stop.

Watched operas here three times. The theater is stunning with grand and lavish interiors. During the break, I drank some wine and ate some cheese in their foyer, which for me was the grandest room of all especially with the huge Christmas tree on top of the stairs.

Etched into the exterior stone archway is a valuable quote admonishing mankind by Schiller, "The worth, the dignity of man is given into your hand, keep it! With you it sinks, with you it rises." The stunning statues of the goddess Freya in her Chariot pulled by two Lionnesses overlooking the highest points of the building, the angels blowing their... More

This one of the most successful German language theatres and the company, which offers five performance programmes, ranks sixth in Germany in terms of attendance stats and it is one of the most productive with more than 800 events during each season. Lovely building to visit too.

Beautiful look in a nice area, right in front of the Kurpark, where you can have a picnic while looking at this nice theater.

A beautiful theater inside and out. I would definitely go to a performance if you can. The tickets are very affordable and there isn't a bad seat in the house. There is a wide selection of performances too and some are in English.

This turn-of-the-century theatre is one of the most spectacular in Germany. If you have a chance to see a performance while in Wiesbaden you are in for a treat. The acoustics are terrific and you will enjoy yourself immensely.
