Wonderful playing, conducting, staging (but perhaps I'm biased as I know the stage director), lighting (and I also know the lighting designer!) and singing. Two really memorable nights.

The Alte Oper is a great place to have a brunch. The seating is wonderfull and the service good. The only snag is the buffet itself. It is situated at the entrance were everyone that comes in has to goo past so that for those queue for the buffet are constantly pushed and shoved by those trying to get to... More

This was an attraction of international Tourist, next to the building was a Euro Mark monument that every one loved to take photos next to, If you arrived by train in Frankfurt you will be just on the door mat of Oper Frankfurt. Its a beautiful sight next to a park ,you can watch and admire all day.

Amazing and beautiful building. Worth a walk through the surrounding parks or streets. Great for a visit and recommend a coffee nearby to admire the view.

This is such a vibe square in the evening with wine/beer bars food stores and entertainment. It makes you part of the Frankfurt scene as the working professional all meet up in this square after work.

And just now for Daphne with Maria Bentsson which was utterly ravishing. All I want to say is that this is an outstanding company and if you go... More

Good singers, good directing and good conducting. All from artists that are not widely known but then Frankfurt Oper did win a best opera company award last year. My 10 yera old son really enjoyed this - his first opera - despite the German surtitles and the French singing; a tribute to the cohesiveness of the production.

Last week I was there to see Giacomo Puccini's "Tosca". Although the music and acting was quite satisfactory (the only thing I did not like was the omission of the overture), the the opera house itself is actually not as beautiful as other opera houses in Germany and in other major European cities. The seats are quite comfortable but there... More

Maybe I was influenced by the fact I played in this magnificent hall..?! but I was so impressed by the quality of the acoustic and the splendor of the building, inside and outside...really worth a visit !
