It is not up there with the great tourist attractions of the world but after a few days spent in the hard nosed city of Frankfurt the ability to browse interesting shops and have coffee and cake in different places makes a visit here worthwhile. I have bought a few unusual things from the various shops and it feels much... More

Whenever I am in Frankfurt am Main I pay a short visit to Berger Straße as this is a lively street with many bars, cafés and restaurants and I love this mix. In March I was in the "Rink" bar/restaurant to have Schnitzel with Grüne Soße (Schnitzel with the typical green sauce made of a herb mix typical for Frankfurt)... More

As you walk along Berger Strasse you come across different little shops and cafes, you can enjoy just strolling along.

Plus points: The cosmopolitan air, the variety of shops and places to eat. Minus points: dirty street corners, with beggars and homeless people sleeping in cardboards... they give Frankfurt a rather poor image.

Berger Strasse is a showcase of what Germany, and Europe in general, does best - preserve history and culture! Walking through this street with local businesses and shops feels more like having driven miles outside of the city than actually being in it. Definitely worth a stroll down, even if it's just to window-shop.

This is a neighborhood business street with many small shops, restaurants, bars, ice cream parlors - a good place to take a stroll on a warm afternoon, to sit down, sip a coffee or tea, and watch the world pass by...

This street has some lovely cafes and restaurants and has a real authentic German feel in the middle of Frankfurt. Berger Strasse is really easy ro get to via the UBahn and trams. There are some great shops on the street too and it has a really relaxed continental feel. I especially recommend Gambrinus restaurant for a quality German reasonably... More

This was a charming area to visit, that had nice open markets. We were able to enjoy a glass of wine, and taste some local dishes on the street. Unfortunately, public restrooms were hard to come by!
