If you have at least two hours of spare time while in downtown Frankfurt may I suggest you go up for a look at the city.

Of course the view is great, even though the Commerzbank tower is too close, blocking out parts of the city, fortunately nothing important. You can see the old town, all the other highrises, the airport, on a good day even all the way to Frankenstein castle due south. But most noteworthy is the fact that it's an open platform. Nothing... I've been here 2 years ago, bussines purpose, and I took the change to visit the tower. The entry fee is resonable , they have a very modern elevator and the view is amaing at least over night. There is also a great restaurant, don't hesitate to go there!

Main Tower is a great place to go up if the weather is clear for a view of Frankfurt and surrounding areas. Probably the highest (officially accessible) place to stand in Frankfurt. It's €6.5 per person to go up, and there is a family ticket for €17.50 (2x adult + 2x children) Open most of the day, every day (times... More

Visited one Sunday when all shops were closed on Zeil. Weather is the key to visit the tower. On hot summer day it was windy and "not so hot" up there. Proper "dress-code" is important. Then you can watch dozens of plains approaching for landing to Frankfurt airport. Worth to visit in good weather conditions and with proper clothing!

Myself and a friend visited here and we were the only ones there except for a romantic couple. The views were amazing and the entry fee was very reasonable. There is also a nice restaurant up the top also if you fancy food with a view.
