nice place to take a walk

Sachsenhausen is a part of Frankfurt which is very nice to take a walk to from the center. Small family restaurants and bars offer a great atmosphere.

A must go see area of Frankfurt. Small restaraunts, bar, pub...... One after the other down several streets with the narrow cobblestone streets. Definitely a relaxed, festive atmosphere but also some of the best authentic German food around!

It is just as a remember when I was in the military in the 90's. You have the old town feel and all the drinking spots that you can handle. I took my girlfriend to the area and she had a wonderful time. The outdoor restaurants and watching her try her first jager schnizel was good. You have so many... More

I first visited Sachsenhausen in the 1980s when I was working just outside Frankfurt, recently I happened to be in the area and curiosity got the better of me. It was like going back in time nothing has changed apart from myself, all the bars were still there and just as much enjoyment, I sampled a few beers and an... More

Nice small neighborhood of traditional buildings and cobblestone streets. Lots of restaurants and bars, we were here during the day time so it was not busy but I would think it would be a very busy area in the evenings. Easy to find just cross the river on the Eiserner Steg bridge and you are there.

Sachsenhausen is s chic neighborhood that many locals would love to live in. The place is a quaint neighborhood by day but at night it is a great place to hang out. Lots of great restaurants and bars to visit. I got the feeling that it is mostly a younger crowd that hangs out there but don't let that scare... More

We visited this charming neighbourhood by acccident. We were visited the Frankfurt altstadt then walked across the famous Eisenersteg bridge and then arrived in charming little neighbourhood, Sachsenhausen. It was late evening, so we were just taking some walk to view some of nice building, some olds some new, some house or apartments with cute gardens, iddylic and very quite.... More

Walked across the river during the morning and found Sachsenhausen quite easily. It was smaller than we anticipated and basically an enclave of half timbered buldings, towers and churches within a concrete jungle. The buildings in Sachsenhausen itself, which housed cafes, bars, restaurants were brilliant to look at from the outside and the area was quite atmospheric with its small... More

This is another part of Frankfurt city with lots of nice restaurants and bars with good German beer and different kinds of local and international food.Recommended to walk through small streets where you are going to see old houses and churches in a very nice athmosphere.Lovely place to escape from the caos in the centre
