Sachsenhausen is a town within a town. A very popular residential neighborhood, it also is home to a lively night scene on the Schweizer Platz, has a number of excellent, reasonably priced restaurants, and a number of charming boutiques and stores. It is within walking distance of downtown- just over the Main River via a bridge. More

The place where the taxi drivers are sending you ! Not a good recommendation ! A lot of old smoky bars that must have been fine a long time ago ! Not worth a visit ! More

I don't think I visited this area at the right time as it was seemingly quite and not what I thought it was going to be like i.e. it was not lively and there were very few people about on the Saturday afternoon I went. More

Most traditional restaurants in Frankfurt are located in SAchsenhausen. Try an "Apfelwein", a fresh apple-made wine. You can have it pure, with sparkling water or with lemonade. Very refreshing. More
