Pretty and fun neighborhood

Definitely the place to party in Frankfurt. Filled with good restaurants, clubs and with a very nice architecture, it is the place to go if you want a fun time in Frankfurt.

Walked across the river during the morning and found Sachsenhausen quite easily. It was smaller than we anticipated and basically an enclave of half timbered buldings, towers and churches within a concrete jungle. The buildings in Sachsenhausen itself, which housed cafes, bars, restaurants were brilliant to look at from the outside and the area was quite atmospheric with its small... More

This is another part of Frankfurt city with lots of nice restaurants and bars with good German beer and different kinds of local and international food.Recommended to walk through small streets where you are going to see old houses and churches in a very nice athmosphere.Lovely place to escape from the caos in the centre

I have to say I have never seen so much tat in one place. The flea market was just wasn't worth going to. It's a nice area though and worth a stroll through the streets and maybe stop for a coffee and cake in one of the many cafes.

What a place! I recommend getting the UBahn to Schweizer Platz and walking up to the restaurant Zum Gemalten Haus. The whole area has a fantastic vibe and it is so leafy and green with pretty old houses and old bars. There are many Apfelwein bars here and they can not be recommended enough by me. It is like stepping... More

Great little old part of Frankfurt with lively bars and quirky restaurants as well as an abundance of takeaways. Best not to go on New Year's eve as we found! The Germans do not have a "firework" code. It felt more like we were in the middle of Beirut.

Sachsenhausen is located just over the bridge from the Frankfurt Romer. I passed through this area of cobblestone streets during the day and there was not much happening, so I enjoyed the view of the old buildings and churches in the area. I have been in Sachsenhausen many times before and the place is certainly livelier in the evenings and... More

Great area with friendly people that made us feel welcome. The prices at restaurants were more than reasonable. Hotels all over the area. Go see the fun and chaos! LOL

If you ever get bored in Frankfurt, then go to Sachsenhausen to taste the local beer and get hammered. The Germans are funny, friendly and crazy. (Tip: avoid Shooters and the "kamikaze" shot.)

Great place to sample German beer in local taverns. Close to the subway as well. We killed an afternoon here on a long airport layover.
