The Palmengarten proved to be a special place to visit on Christmas Eve. We spent half a day wandering around the beautiful property, enjoying all the holiday decorations as well as the plants in the 14 greenhouses. On a cold wintery day, Palmengarten offered a warm spot to just enjoy all the wonderful plants.

On a recent visit to Frankfurt (primarily to visit the Christmas markets) my mum looked up some other activities to fill our time- as three solidly spent days at a market is a very long time! We decided to visit the Palmengarten as we all enjoy a wander round, looking at beautiful plants and scenery. This couldn't have been a... More

We visited the Palmengarten during the winter holidays to enjoy a bit of a walk on a very cold and snowy day. We were surprised at how large the property is inside the gardens, and the well laid out walking paths. The snow added to the beauty of the gardens, though I would love to go back when the outdoor... Palmengarten is amazing. There are hundreds of species and some spectacular simulated environments. Very nice place for a calm walk, families and couples. There is also a pretty lake with ducks, swans and paddle boats. Fantastic for photographers (professionals and amateurs). Free entrance as well.

See the seasonal exhibits, especially the advent wreaths. Great playgrounds for kids. Go in winter to get some tropical warmth. Go in summer to cool off in the shade. Then eat cake at Cafe Siesmeyer next door.

Nice place to stop after a visit to the Palm garden. Good service, nice food and the cakes/desserts are incredible. In their store you can buy elegant chocolates, cakes and cookies. Not cheap - but nice ☺️

I was skeptical when my wife suggested we visit. I was not disappointed. While the foliage might be sparse, the landscaping, greenhouses, and winter plantings offered plenty to see.
