A friend recommended going here while we spent a few days in town. We were disappointed with how small it is and did not find it at all interesting.

We visited the PalmenGarten on a very cold January morning. We visited a number of the greenhouses containing palms, shrubs and camelias. There is a large pond with fountains and there will be waterlilies in summer. Because it was so cold on the day of our visit, there was a limited amount of items on view so we retired to... More

Palmengarten is a green oasis with some glass houses that give a great overview of earth's different climate zones and their plants. Very relaxing atmosphere but also a nice playground for the little ones.

The garden was nice and there were lots of interesting plants to look at. It was a little far from the centre of Frankfurt but definitely worth a visit if you're into horticulture.

Lots to see at this botanical garden. There are labelled trees and plants outside, and several indoor attractions. I especially enjoyed the cactus garden - it's the first I remember seeing at a botanical garden.

Visited the Palmengarten twice now. On previous visit there was a festival of roses on and this time the Christmas display. It would seem they have different themes/activities throughout the year. Great place to wander on a wet day and really good value for money.

It just makes sense when the days are so short in winter, to visit Palmengarten at night when they have a light display. Buildings, tress and ponds are lit up with coloured lights and and some laser light displays with accompanying music make it very beautiful. With further development this could really become a tourist draw card for Frankfurt.
