We went in October and unfortunately most of the flowers were dead, the gardens were still green but nothing exciting. There are a couple of playgrounds for those with kids. We also stopped by a restaurant on the premises and had some ice cream.

in November despite plus 18 degrees everything looked deserted and was very quite. There were green houses packed with cactus and flowers but nothing impressive. Playground was closed and not operating as well as kids train.

Palmengarten in Frankfurt is a must visit place. Apart from palmen and other types of flora, there other attractions. A small lake with boats for rent. Several playgrounds for children including one with water games. Small railroad. Open space concert stage.

Definitely a must see while you are in Frankfurt. The hot houses at the Palmengarten are excellent (plus you can go in there to warm up n a chilly day) and the outside botanic gardens are lovely at any time of the year. There is a café on site although we didn't stop there and there is an underground car... More

Several greenhouses and small outdoor themed gardens make up this wonderful park just a few stops away from downtown. Although the indoor exhibits close at 4 or 5pm, the oudoor gardens don't. Note that the park entrance is northeast of Zeppelinallee exit of Bockenheimer-Warte Station on the U6/U7 lines.

Great escape from bustling city life. Love the large variety of plant species. I am sure it is going to be way more beautiful in spring and summer. Nevertheless, definitely worth it for the 7 EUR entry fee. I am glad I managed to squeeze out time to visit this place!

A massive botanical garden, much larger than I expected... a lot to see so worth the €7 entry fee. Easily accessible using the 'hop-on, hop-off' service, the underground system or simply walking. Great activity for a sunny day,,, I was especially interested in the PALM HOUSE, SUBANTARCTIC HOUSE and TROPICARIUM

Frankfurt hosts two botanical garden even. The Palmengarten is located in the Westend of the city and is one of the largest of its kind in Germany - with 22 ha. It was created in 1871 on a private initiative and was modeled after French and English ideals, for example after the Galerie des Machines from the Paris World Exposition... More
