Well worth a visit. Very good collection of European art. Some fine modern art as well. Beautiful building. Looks as though it houses a very fine restaurant as well. More

Designed from a famous world architecture studio, of course the pacio, but you have to enter thru the old building, modern art is inside and you pay 12 eu More

Smaller scale than what you find in Munich or Berlin, or Paris or London for that matter, but nice selection and setting on the Main river, and definitely worth a visit More

Alight at the train station, walk through town a bit, and then walk across the pedestrian bridge (across the river Main) to this museum. The exhibitions change frequently, and I have never been disappointed by any of them. The permanent collection of German artists is also lovely. More

This gallery contains a reasonably important collection of primarily European artworks dating from the Medieval period right through to the present. Its holdings of nineteenth- and twentieth-century paintings are particularly strong, although the older material it displays is also worth a visit. This is not a big art gallery, but is well endowed, and easy to understand. The "Modern Art" is on the first floor and the "Old Masters" are on the 2nd floor. Modern Art here means 1850-1945.
