I went there on my last day in Hamburg and really liked it. Great place to take a boat trip or the ferry (free if you have the transportation ticket), close to the Elbtunnel and generally beautiful.

Dinner, lunch, shopping, catching up with friends, taking the ferry; so much to do in this area that we spent two evenings/nights there. Such a cool place to chill out even though it does get busy.

We went to Hamburg for New Year and loved this area. Lots of places to eat, great boat trips and the Elbe tunnel nearby. Would definitely recommend. My children loved it here.

Very busy tourist area. Great boat tours. Great for pictures. Could spend all day walking the docks and shopping for souvenirs. Got rained out. When in Hamburg always take your umbrella.

Vibrant riverside area of Hamburg with restored quayside buildings in which are housed cafes, bars, tourist shops. Riverside walks from which to view old ships moored up, dry docks and numerous types of shipping on the River Elbe including container ships, cruise liners, ferries zipping to and fro and even a paddle steamer. You can catch harbour ferries or sightseeing... More

Unless you go for a boat trip from there I think you have nothing special to do in this place. A lot of coffee and crepes shops but also crowds of people running around - a lot of fuss.

This is Hamburg's St. Pauli, THE Hamburg icon! Harbor, ships, boats, harbour cruises on 100 year old barks, several museum ships like the Rickmer Rickmers or the Cap San Diego; many fish restaurants, the world famous Fishmarket nearby; excellent public transportation to and from the location.

We liked this very busy place, because it shows that Hamburg is called the gate to the world and there you can see the big ships as messengers of the world. We took ferries and went on tours along the river Elbe and through the port, just great!

Whenever I am in Hamburg I enjoy a visit to the Landungsbruecken and usually take a short boat trip from there to Teufelsbrueck. There is always a great atmosphere with lots of restaurants and souvernir shops. From the Landungsbruecken one can also take the ferry across to the theatre to see "The Lion King". Definitely worth a visit and so... More

A bit touristic, but still nice. Get on a boat and enjoy the harbor views. The are also some souvenir shops and some fischbrot stands where you can get some fish in a baguette, tasty fish and chips or fried calamari
