Good people (& bird) watching

Grabbed a glass of glüewein at the Christmas market and sipped it while watching people and getting dive bombed by birds!

In good weather the Alster Lakes are a must see. Attractive views and numerous cafes and restaurants. A hop on and hop off all day ticket on the ferry, which calls at nine quays around the lake and runs April to October is recommended.

I like the view and atmosphere of Alster Lakes in Hamburg. There are many cafes and restaurant around the lakes. The walking paths and cycling routes are also developed around the lakes. It is very nice to have an easy access to the lakes and various opportunities spend some time around the lakes.

This is a pretty lake and nice to walk around. Probably better in the sunshine as it was pretty bleak in the winter.

Such a beautiful boat trip. Meandering through the various canals. Lots of people on small pedelos and paddle boards. We also saw all the expensive houses along the canal banks. The trip was commented on in just German no English spoken.

Hamburg is blessed to have a lovely lake so close to the city. My wife and I strolled along the edge, watching the boats and swans, and the people with their bikes and dogs. A perfect spot to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Really enjoyed our boat tour . Very relaxing and really good value for money. Very interesting to see the many expensive properties that back on to the lakes. Youd never think you were in the centre of a large city!

We paid for a scenic boat ride in the evening that was labelled as 'romantic' and it was such a major rip off. Firstly, the audio guides did not work at all, and this is despite my partner and I asking for a change of the audio guides. The staff of the Alster lake cruises should know very well whether...
