Easy to spot why this an impressive sight to see. The historical buildings are stunning and while the area is undergoing some major redevelopment it's a great place to come and see, mainly for the buildings (for a better view of the actual harbour head further west)

If you've got a morning or afternoon spare - give this a go. The Model Railway (Miniatur Wunderland) and the Maritime Museum in this locality so a good 'wet weather' option.

This part of Hamburg is only better seen through bus otherwise a lnely desolated ware houses presently occupy this place.

We decided to explore the Speicherstadt from 2 sides. First we took one of the guided boot cruises at the harbour and then we walked around the old brick buildings. Most of them have been carefully renovated and accomodate now stores and shops. Some are still used as storehouses. Few locations are still not renewed and give a good impression... More
