With a good tour guide your harbor cruise will be filled with much history and numerous, top-notch photo ops. See huge container ships up close. Statues here and there. A lock. Old, brick warehouses now transformed.

If you are interested to see the warehouse district be sure to check it out from a canal tour as well. There is a great hour or so tour that weaves in and out of all of the canals in the district. It is a relaxing cruise and gives you great opportunity for photos and an appreciation of how this... More

Wow, bigger and more impressive than I had expected. I found the architecture fascinating and the area is really quite beautiful. Not really much to do, but from an architectural point of view, I found it fascination.

It is very mystifying – it has channels but it is not Venice, the architecture is somewhat Danish, but it is not Denmark, the street signs are in German but Russian sailors are passing by, everyone rides bikes but none is Chinese, the water is all around but it’s not a seaside, I should need a map but I keep... Nice area of Hamburg to walk around on a sunny sunday afternoon. the area is now a very hip up and coming area, so lots of little hidden gems in amongst the warehouses. Worth a visit.

Very different area full of red-brick buildings with cafés on the many terraces along the channels. Definitely worth a visit and a bite to eat or at least a drink or a coffee.

WE took the boat trip along th Elbe and around the port areas, which start with a cruise along the warehouse area of Hamburg. Not much to see here just rows and rows of red brick warehouse, that all look the same, and not very interesting.

Went to the Spice Museum, located in one of the ware houses. It is small, but very interesting, also for children. The warehouse architecture is something else, and on a sunny day, it is well worth it to take a walk around, or maybe sail the surrounding canals.

A truly amazing set up. Full of history but also loads of quirkiness! Mix this with new hip and modern mix used development and Europe's most expensive music hall development, The Elb Philharmonie and you have a wonderful eclectic mix. Enough to do for a day from coffee roasters to miniture world museum, which I loved. The dungeon is also... More
