the area has a very cool vibe with warehouses with brick walls. We had a hard time finding a good lunch place but still enjoyed walking around.

This walk gives you a excellent sense of the history and importance of the city of Hamburg. The architecture is interesting and there is no shortage of canals.

When in Hamburg, one really should take a walk in the Warehous district. If you have a guide book, you could read about the different buildings. The settings are great in the harbour with several canals.

This was a great place to walk around and see all the historic buildings - especially on a Sunday when it was fairly quiet.

They still store quite a bit of goods here. Apparently it's the biggest exchange place for carpets all over the world. So if you're lucky you get to see some traders get their carpets out of one of the storage rooms with a lift. It is a busniess district and it kind of looks the same everywhere but if you... More

Pleasant stroll around this old warehouse district. Has a medieval flair to it .. picturesque quarters .. riveted bridges .. several canals going through it where fleets once travelled by. Spice Museum, Miniature wonderland, the Messmer Momentum Tee Shop - among other interesting museums are in the area. Take a walk along the bridges and look out for the tiny... More

The Ubahn is right at this stop. This is a great historical area. There are several new and old buildings in the area. It runs along the water and it's a great way to walk the city and get a feel for how life is along these streets. There are a few restaurant hidden in between Incase you want to... More

Take a walk, feel the maritime history of Hamburg, capture some great photos, and go to Miniatur Wunderland. There are many cafes around. It can get quite crowded during peak tourism times, but nevertheless you will have fun. Search Miniatur Wunderland on tripadvisor , because you have to go there when visiting Hamburg.

The Hamburg warehouse district, also known as the Freihafen is an old part of the city that has in recent years been upgraded in some parts. However many of the old buildings have been kept intact. This is an interesting part of the city. Make sure to stroll along the Sandtorkai if you go.

This is an excellent place to visit: not just for the harbour sight but this area has been restored and remodelled for both working and living. A lot of effort (and money) has been pumped into it and it shows.
