When I first came to Hamburg, this area is what caught my attention the most, the huge brick buildings, all very similar to each other, surrounded by canals, definitely has an enchanting effect every time I visit, perfect to take a nice walk, or get a coffee in one of their cafes and restaurants, there is silence around that keeps... There are quite a number of large brick buildings dating back to the turn of the century. Aside from seeing the outside of these buildings there isn't a lot to see. They are on the waiting list for World Heritage Site status, so if you are a WHS buff then you'll want to see these as well. There is a... More

We visited this first by boat along the canals...and then the following days on foot to enjoy the mixture of old, new and cultural. Always a great area to walk around and marvel at!

There are lots of great buildings to see in the warehouse district. I loved the juxtaposition of ancient and modern buildings standing together. There are roads to walk down but close to the river there are a lot of cobbles which some people may find difficult to walk on. Very pleasant to walk around.

The Warehouse District is the largest warehouse complex on wooden stilts in the world and was declared a National Monument. An oasis in the big city, especially at sunset it is quiet and the light wonderfully. Nice is also a boat ride through the Speicherstadt, because it again offers other insights. I can also recommend a visit to Messmer or... More

A walk around this quaint canal filled district is well worth the effort. The buildings are full of character and the old sailing vessels were magnificent!

We cycled around here on our guided cycle tour. Not too busy with traffic and atmospheric. There is a great continuity in the building styles and it gives a great impression of what it must have been like in the past.

It is a nice place near the Hamburg center. Don't miss it. Visit it at morning because at night it is a bit dark and it is a little scary..
