Rows and rows of old brick warehouses, connected by little canals and just recently turned into world heritage, the Speicherstadt is an amazing sight. Stroll through the alleys and over foot bridges and imagine how a mere 100 years ago this place was bustling with shipd and goods from all over the world - before the times of the big... More

The first impression of sight took me to several years back, very well organized warehouse buildings that are now used for offices. Must to have a look of this area if you are planning to hamburg.

The warehouse district was probably steps 10,000 of 30,000 that day. not sure why, but this was a place I'd always wanted to photograph and it definitely met all expectations. Hamburg is a very photographic and enjoyable city

We first of all saw this area on a boat trip, which gave an unusual perspective because the canals were narrow and the buildings tall. A few days later, we walked around it, and got some great photo opportunities of the buildings and many bridges. Not much was open on a Sunday, but the cafe/restaurant in the centre looked good... The Warehouse District is a must see when visiting Hamburg. You can easily imagine how busy the warehouses were in their glory.

Unexpected pleasure to walk around and to see such an effective human creation. It is being used even today. Bridges, canals, old town around is simply great

Not quite sure what we were expecting but they're very pretty though not a lot to do. Lots of the warehouses are in use so you are walking through a busy district. Wasser schloss worth visiting for lunch

There is obviously a great deal of social history here but need a good guidebook to find it. Busy and charming eateries abound - nice walking on a hot day.

great place to visit, taking a boat tour is a good idea. But strolling along old streets, looking at old warehouses and completly new buidings is also a good idea.
