It's basically a huge park with perfectly landscaped gardens. There's a lovely japanese garden too. Plants, trees, flowers, ducks everywhere. There are little artificial lakes and beautiful fountains too. It has bathrooms, bars and cafès. For the kids there's a huge playground too. It's the perfect place for a picnic, for some tanning or for just a nice walk or... More

Few things better than wandering around Planten un Blomen with an ice cream, or taking in the fountains with family or friends. A visit to Hamburg is incomplete without a stroll through these lovely gardens.

I was in Hamburg for a few days with my boyfriend and we visited the park on the basis of a tip from my father. Oh god, it is so beautiful! So peaceful and a beautiful spot in this city. I definitely recommend this.

If like plants and flowers photography this is the place for you in Hamburg. Lots of species from all around the world, and better, it's free. Nice place for running too.

This park was a wonderful spot to chill out in the middle of our very busy trip to Hamburg. We started at the south end of the park and walked all the way up to the north corner where the water and light show was. Hundreds turned up for the show, most with snacks and drinks! Great evening picnic spot... More

It is well worth taking the time to explore all the different areas of this huge park. For example there are Japanese styled gardens, meditterranean terraces and at 10pm there is a lovely light and water show to classical music. There are lots of people finding their own spots to read, talk, and lie in the sun. There are a... More

We walked through Planten un Blomen on our way back to our hotel and were so glad we diverted to do that. The paths are lovely and inviting, well-tended and pleasant. The plants were not only beautiful and green, but fragrant. Hamburg is a busy, intense place. The park was a peaceful break from the intensity.

At 10 o'clock in the evening there is a concert of light, water and music. The concert takes place in this park an last for 30 minutes. It is must see. People bring blankets and snack and sit down in the grass by a small lake, enjoying the Swan like and others masterpieces.

I love parks, especially those that inspire you or spend a wonderful time in a city. So here on TripAdvisor I saw this park was a top attraction for Hamburg and had to visit it - curious but somehow expecting to be slightly disppointed I came - and did I like it! This is one of the most beautiful parks... More
