Since my childhood i loved the story about four friends. Coming to Bremen this year, i learned that they were a symbol of national unity and strength. It was great to see how people of all ages eager to touch the donkey's legs (for luck?). The statue is not very big and easy to miss, especially in the middle of... More

This is of course the main symbol of Hamburg and so it is important to visit. But it was very small and with the Christmas Market on in the square it was very difficult to find. However, it is important to go and see it. Please be patient if you want to get a photo taken as there are many... More

We found ourselves crowing "kill-the-robber-do" all around Bremen... Rub the donkey for good luck! And read the story to your kids before going to Bremen. They will love it!

We'd been staying near the markplatz and had even walked past this statue, but didn't notice it, as we were looking for a more sizable statue! It is up beside a building, so not a focal point. Cute, nonetheless. A "must" for getting a photo with.

As the saying goes, rubbing these figures ( a symbol of Bremen - the donkey, dog, cat and cock - figures from the stories written by the Grimm brothers) brings luck. It´s less than 50 meters away from the Town Hall.

Who would have thought that the town musicians were anything but musicians? Although located at the corner of a building people flock to the site and take their pictures with the "musicians" as background.

It was great to see "them in person" as my father was born in Bremen, but left when he was 10. We often read the story of the brave "outcasts" and I've had a bronze statue of them all my life. It was Freimarkt time so it was busy in town with street sellers, etc.

The place is calm and so impressive. Once you go to Schnoor you feel like a ancient tail character. Colors of the houses are beautiful.

Nothing more, nothing less- A MUST IN BREMEN. Take a guided tour to find out more about the sculpture and the history of the city. If you are supersticious, you should make a wish while holding the legs of the donkey- both handed:))
