I decided to do the Third Reich tour during my stay in Berlin. I prefer English speaking tours on that subject because the guides tend to have an outsiders perspective and are usually a bit more neutral than native guides Kevin did not disappoint, he had a great knowledge on the subject and led us around the sites at a... I booked the Third Reich tour, because of the reviews here on Tripadvisor, and we were not disappointed. Our guide was Kevin, a very knowledgeable person. We did start on the East side, as it was closer to our hotel, but from there we took a train, just a few stops to I think it was Hauptbahnhof, where we met... More

We had a four hour walking tour with Original Berlin Walks in January. Wow. It was fantastic. What a way to see the city. Our guide Jonathan was the best guide we have ever had, in any city. Well done Jonathan, your enthusiasm and knowledge was wonderful. Thank you.

With limited time in Berlin, we wanted to do a tour that would cover all the points of interest. There are many tours available but you need look no further than "Original Berlin walks". We did the "Discover Berlin tour" which is a 3 1/2-4 hour walking tour. When our tour guide Ysanne arrived, I thought she looked rather, erm,... More

We did the Third Reich Sites tour on 23 January in the bitter cold. Really interesting commentary given to us by our guide Kevin who was really knowledgeable and animated throughout. He presented the facts without dwelling too much on the gory detail we all knew only too well. Would highly recommend.

We took the tour around the historic centre of Berlin, and it was well worth while. We saw far more on the tour than could have been achieved on our own, and learned a lot from the guide. We returned to some of the sites ourselves the following day, and looked into museums etc further.

Would highly recommend the Discover Berlin tour - our tour guide Carlos struck just the right balance. This would be great to do on the first day of the trip as it gives you a great overview of the city and its history.

We were so lucky to get Darren as our tour guide. He's getting his doctorate in German history from Cambridge University and if our tour was any indication, he should have a long career ahead of him as a beloved professor. He explained so much about Berlin's history, its place in German history, and the lives and values of the... More

Amazing value! Gives you a very comprehensive tour of the city and our tour guide, Pip, was EXCELLENT - super friendly, outgoing and funny. Her historical knowledge was incredible, we definitely took so much away from the tour and learnt so much more about the city. Definitely recommend (dress warmly - incl. gloves & beanie)!

Staying in Friedrichshain

Neighborhood Profile
Friedrichshain
When you arrive at Warschauer Strasse in the heart of the district, you have found one of Berlin’s party hotspots. At night in Friedrichshain, the energy is palpable and the streets of this old worker's quarter are full of street musicians. On one hand, you may find a bar with international crowds, electronic music, long lines and panoramic views - on the other, an outside venue by old train yards featuring decrepit buildings and live alternative music. No matter your taste, the best way to end a night out in Friedrichshain is sitting by the Spree River at the East side gallery, the longest and best preserved piece of the Berlin Wall, watching the sun rise over the beautiful Oberbaum Bridge.
