This is such a great way to see the important sites of Berlin. Our guide, Ryan, was extremely knowledgable and able to answer ANY questions we had. He was very nice and made sure we got a significant and meaningful glimpse into Berlin's history and WWII history. 100% recommend this company.

This is a quite thorough introduction to Berlin's major sites. A lot must depend on which guide you get. Ours was Rachel. She was quite well versed on Berlin history, at least the facets involved in the walk. However, she seemed a bit tired out by this tour, as if she had done it a few too many times recently.... More

We spent a very enjoyable 4 hours with Rick our American guide. He told us lots of fascinating things about Berlin and managed to keep a big group interested throughout the tour. This is a great introduction to the sights and history of the city.

Berlin is a city that must be explored, and for someone who had no idea where to start, this was an amazing way to see all the sights. I did the "Discover Berlin" tour with Rachel, and loved that there were two pickup points, one right down the street from my hotel! Our group was large, with over 15 people,... More

We went on a walk on 25/5 with an excellent guide, Kevin. It was the Berlin Wall walk. Kevin brought the period to life with a deep knowledge and captivating style. It wasn't all one way, he fielded questions and made us think about the period in an interesting way. We're going on another tour with these guys today -... More

David was great - he stayed engaged over the 4 hour tour, giving us a very nuanced explanation of all the important historical sites around Berlin. He clearly knew what he was talking about and was able to mix in a few hilariously terrible jokes in there too. Highly recommend this tour, especially how relatively inexpensive it was!

Our guide Emily took us on a four hour walking tour of Berlin and in doing so we had the most wonderful time. Her tour comprised the important sites, as well as cultural highlights and other curiosities. She was well spoken, easily understandable by our group of approx 20 people, and the manner in which she hosted our tour kept... More

I went on the 1/2 day walking tour with Matti. He is an excellent guide and is very knowledgable and added personal anecdotes where appropriate. We had a very large group and he managed the group well. Although the tour was long it seemed to fly by with Matti's ease in guiding us around and providing us with very interesting... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
