Brian Deedrick is a fantastic guide! He filled every moment with fascinating information; he is witty, entertaining, and he clearly loves his city, Berlin. I loved every second of the tour, which lead up to a wonderful telling of the last days of the Berlin Wall.

We went on the Third Reich tour with the guide Barnaby. The tour lasted a little bit more then 4 hours, but it did not feel like that. We visited several intresting places such as the resistance museum, Hitlers bunker and the holocaust memorial. The guide had a deep knowledge about World War two, but also when it come to... More

Our guide was Yan, who gave us an introduction to the complex web of the Cold War with crystal clarity. His account of the history was very illuminating, and he inspired me to find out more about what he calls the 'childishness' of the Cold War.

POTSDAM. First of all, it is WALKING TOUR - you will be walking A LOT over cobblestones, dirt, sidewalk so be prepared. You will cover a lot of ground in Potsdam. I don't think you could do this on your own - the guide knows where & how to go. MARIA is a great guide - informative & witty. She... More

My family went on the Insider Tour to Dresden. Alex, the tour guide was very good & being an Australian she had the sense of humour to go with it. There was lots of information given about the areas we passed through on the way to Dresden. On the way back Alex took the time to talk to every person... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
