During my stay in Berlin, I discovered this cafe while looking for a nice place to have a good and greedy breakfast! I went two times because I was very satisfied with the first :). The muesli with fresh fruits is delicious so is the bread and the pancakes. It is located near a main street but quiet and really... More

Recommended by a German friend, we were very glad we were able to visit the Literaturhaus - even if only for a coffee at the last minute. It has a wonderful "feel" about it both as a building and in terms of the people meeting there. The staff were charming and happy to tell us more about the history. Well... More

Found this cafe in our guide book so popped along for some brunch. There's seating in the garden or upstairs in the building, we had the best of both on the little terrace. Scrambled eggs on roti were great as was the bread etc. Be prepared for a spot of wasp swatting if you're eating the honey!

I love the location of this Cafe. The beautiful little garden in summer and the old rooms in the Villa of the Kaiserzeit. You can get better food and better service in Berlin but this unique place is still a must if you are on Kurfürstendamm. The Cafe is sophisticated and not really a good place for happy family kindergarden... More

If foreigners annoy you then put up a sign to say we're not welcome. If children annoy you then make it clear you don't want us to bring them there. Otherwise, please don't ignore us at our table, don't command us to sit down when a little boy comes to the counter to choose a cake - and then never... More

Great place for breakfast in an area with few alternatives. Friendly staff, good coffee and good breakfast food. The cafe is in an attractive little garden on a side street and there is a sheltered terrace so you can eat outside even when it's raining. Only downside - it doesn't open until 9AM.

One of my favourite breakfast places in Charlottenburg. This is the place to go if staying in Charlottenburg or being in the area. The milie is incredible: nice garden where you can enjoy your breakfast. The atmosphere here is extremely peaceful. Many locals go here! It was a pleasant surprise that they also have English newspapers there for customers to... More

Nice caffe, in the Literature house in Berlin. Specialy, if is in Spring or Summer, you can be outside, if you catch a table, not so many are available. The service is a slow. The menu options are good. The environment, is good.

This was our first post-arrival meal; we were definitely jet-lagged, so that should be taken into account. We were more interested in a modest meal and getting to bed than enjoying the overall experience. However, this was a very good meal at a reasonable price. We enjoyed the curry sandwich (very interesting), asparagus soup, goat cheese sandwich, and strudel. The... More

I had a late afternoon drink here, and was so impressed I came back for dinner. It's tucked away on a quiet street just off the Ku"damm. You can dine outdoors, in a glassed in "wintergarden" area, or indoors. I had a couscous, asparagus and smoked salmon salad that was absolutely delicious. Loved the atmosphere---very low keyed. Everyone else's food... More

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighborhood Profile
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighborhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theaters close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
