My husband pronounced his meal the best of the whole trip. And we had had some remarkable meals! Not a fancy ambiance, and be warned: NO CREDIT CARDS accepted!

Saw this cafe in a guidebook, so visited on Saturday morning. Got there at 12pm and expected breakfast to have finished but they were still serving til 2pm.. Which is excellent! Very busy, wasn't room to be seated in the greenhouse but still got a lovely table by the tall windows. Service was quick and the waitress was lovely. Food... More

I ordered a sup which came with a lot of coriander on top of it, when I asked to take it of cause I'm allergic to coriander. The chef came out screamed at me that the soup is amazing I should pay now leave the place and never should come again! S. from Berlin

I found out about this place via the Guardian's recommendations for best breakfasts in Berlin - it did not disappoint. We sat outside and as others have written it's a lovely calm setting despite being very near a bustling part of Berlin. I had the pancakes (which I highly recommend) and my partner had one of the set breakfasts (great... More

During my stay in Berlin, I discovered this cafe while looking for a nice place to have a good and greedy breakfast! I went two times because I was very satisfied with the first :). The muesli with fresh fruits is delicious so is the bread and the pancakes. It is located near a main street but quiet and really... More

Recommended by a German friend, we were very glad we were able to visit the Literaturhaus - even if only for a coffee at the last minute. It has a wonderful "feel" about it both as a building and in terms of the people meeting there. The staff were charming and happy to tell us more about the history. Well... More

Found this cafe in our guide book so popped along for some brunch. There's seating in the garden or upstairs in the building, we had the best of both on the little terrace. Scrambled eggs on roti were great as was the bread etc. Be prepared for a spot of wasp swatting if you're eating the honey!

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighborhood Profile
Charlottenburg
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighborhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theaters close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
