A nice break from all the touristy stuff inside Berlin - loved the castles

I visited the Potsdam Gardens back in July 2011 on a lovely, bright forenoon. I really enjoyed the stroll through the park, the architecture was amazing, specifically the Sans Scouscci Palace, and the Chinese Doll house. Its a pluss there is no entrance fee. It is huge so if you want to look around properly do wear some comfy shoes... More

Mayby because it was Monday-Castle closed or because alot of repair and refurbishment is going on in the buildings or because it was cold we were underwhelmed. More parkland than gardens. Mayby April isnt the best time to visit.

My most favourite place to take Berlin guests to: Potsdam landscape by bike. Potsdam is Berlin's suburb known for a variety of chateaus beautifully placed in the green-and-blue landscape around Brandenburg's rivers and lakes. The landscape architecture, almost extinct art nowadays, is offering incredible harmony till today. In fact, the landscape in Prussia was formed by the great minds of... More

It's so nice even without flowers, but so much better if you go at the end of april or may... But anyway... the palaces are so cool to see any time of the year

This requires a full day out if you want to see the highlights of Potsdam. You can buy a ticket which includes a tour of the New Palace and the Sanssouci Palace. These are by no means the only attractions within Potsdam Park. As you walk from one palace to the other you will walk past botanical gardens, the Orangery... More

Loved the whole area, although weather was far from kind. The whole area was rebuilt as it was heavily bombed during the war and it has everything from shops, gardens, monuments, churches etc. Good photo stop again, go and explore.

It's worth the trip out of Berlin to Potsdam to stroll in the gardens and to see the small retreat at Sans Souci. Bring a bike if you can. The town is touristy but charming, especially the Dutch quarter.

We took a tour in Potsdam and stopped here for 20 mins. It was a cold, windy day, so would be better to see and stay in the gardens on a warm summer day.Very relaxing to stay in the garden and with nice views.

The New Palace in Potsdams gardens is a good 2 miles walk from the S bahn station in Potsdam. March is probably not the besttime to experience the flowers and foliage but even on a bright sunny day one can experience the magnificence of this park

Loved the castles, especially when covered in winter were lovely. Did not go in however, as we needed to buy a ticket and we were more keen to wander the outsides. Definitely had a great time here and took lots of amazing pictures!
