These gardens are very beautiful but also very large. Look at the map and consider taking the bus or train back to town.

The Potsdam's Gardens, although in the midst of winter, were still beautiful and worth a visit. I can only imagine how much more beautiful the gardens would be in the summer or spring. However, there was a certain serene beauty that still manifested itself. There were plenty of places to sit and contemplate. Viewed from several vantage points on top,... More

This was much hyped, but not something I would do again. The Rococo of the palace was something that was on the mind-blowing scale, but ultimately not all that interesting. Grounds are spectacular, but it is a lengthy trip by train and bus to get there and I did not think it was ultimately worth it. I would spend more... More

Fantastic views, beautiful imperial gardens, lakes and palaces. Sans Souci Place is great as the great Prussian Emperor that built it.

It is better to visit the gardens in the spring or summer, as some of the statues are covered. The advantage is that during the winter it is not overcrowded.

We had a lovely walk around the gardens and there are 3 big castles around the gardens. One can take a long and quiet walk around the gardens. The buildings are very scenic and the palace is huge. The rooms are beautiful and an internal tour is recommended. The entire walk was very serene.

This was a great place to see and I recommend you walk the whole property and enjoy a picnic. It is a very beautiful place and has many wonderful sites on the grounds. I look forward to seeing it in summer.

Avoid coming during the winter as it would be difficult to enjoy the beautiful countryside scenery which is surrounded by an extensive range of flora. The place itself is undergoing renovation and thus you will not be able to view the entire structure. Still worth going if you have the time.

There are so many statues in the gardens of the main 3 Palace gardens that they cannot be taken inside to protect from winter frost, so they are covered by timber hoardings. They must look great during the summer, will return to view at a more appropriate time. Even in winter the garden at Sans Souci looked great.

Loved it...very much reminded me of the Palace at Versailles! Nice self-guided audio tour! Entrance fee very reasonable and the guide person was great!
