The Friendship gardens, the Sansouci gardens, and the neighborhoods well worth exploring. Bring your camera and comfortable walking shoes.

In my opinion not need to book a tour from Berlin. Grab the train ABC ticket that something like 6 euros round-trip and in the Potsdam station get a sightseeing bus ticket, buses stop there and pass every 30min. You can get in an out at your own pace. Potsdam is a big place and I guess the walking tours... More

Feels so amazing to visit in this place. Different kind of feeling than in the city.Like you would drop in back to history.Makes you wonder who has lived here and who has been building all this. Much to walk and in the way to Sanssouci castle you can see much more too on the way.

If you travel independently, you get a bus from the main railway station to the main castle. Tour buses also operate. It is a number of old castles etc within one big site. You can walk anywhere within this site, for free, a simple map helps. To enter the main castle you need a timed ticket. We were quoted a... More

If you are interested in the history of Prussian Germany before the two world wars this is the place to go. You can see for yourself how wealth was spent by the royal families on their palaces and their obsession with creating large armies .The town itself has an unreal quality to it,with its little streets full of quaint shops... It is the best variant to spend weekend, when everything is closed in Berlin. The gardens are huge and wonderful, it is so good for lazy and slow day, just walk, sit on bench and admire. There are so many palaces and buildings to admire, really! You'll take a million of great pictures, because wherever you look - there is... More

A very large park consisting of wooded ares and formal gardens which is free to enter. Within it are various palaces which we did not go into. 30 minutes by S-Bahn from Friedrichstrasse station to Potsdam Bahnhof and then by bus to the entrance (although we walked via to the park).
