If you have more than 3 days in Berlin, make sure you go to Potsdam. It's amazingly beautiful. Go to Sans Souci Palace and take an audioguide tour. Afterwards, walk around Potsdam, have a coffee and enjoy your self. To go there, it takes 50 min by Metro and costs 3,50 Euros each way! Really easy!!

A train ride from Berlin main station gets you here in 40mins. Don't get off in Potsdam centre make sure you are on a Brandenburg train that stops at Sanssouci (two stops further on). Then enjoy a few hours wandering in some amazing architecture and landscaped gardens. There can be many visitors on a sunny weekend but you can always... More

A short train ride from Berlin, the palaces in the Sanssouci park are larger and more impresive than the Charlottenburg palace, and the Postdam town itlself is also lovely.

Tranquil and nice for talking a walk. Some attractions were closed though and also de information kiosk wasn't open. Overall they are nice gardens. But castles were under construction and there was no access.

If you're in need of a little break away from the city you should visit the various gardens in and around Potsdam. The most famous and biggest would be Park Sansoucci, with its quiet little corners and sweeping areas with grand views.

You can see that the people are really working hard trying to get the 14 palaces restored. We were there on a Monday, only the Nouveau Palais was open. Eight (!) of about 140 rooms were open for visitors as they had been redone. The rest is a work in progress.

Potsdam is a wonderful wee town in district 3 (Berlin Train Ticket). You can spend a full day here or if you book a hotel here, several days … there is plenty to do & see in the town. The parks are wonderful too. So many of them to wander around without rush. Sanssuci gardens are on the edge of... More

If you're planning a trip to Berlin make sure you make it your business to put a day aside to visit Potsdam. This is without doubt one of the most beautiful places that I've visited and the history is extremely interesting. After a day of touring the palaces and the parks there are some amazing cafes / Ice-cream parlors to relax... More
