Palais Sanssouci is located within a park with fabulous gardens. The Palais opens up to the gardens which are meticulously maintained and simply shine in the Spring. The ingenuity with which the gardens were planned and their interplay with the windows and terrace doors of Palais Sanssouci are breathtaking. They are only part of a much larger design that includes... More

We had a coach trip out to Potsdam to visit the park and palaces. Worth the effort and a nice change from Berlin

Beautiful gardens, but make sure you go to the Dutch Quarter for lunch and quaint shops, great day trip from Berlin.

Visited Potsdam Gardens as part of the general visit to Sanssouci Palace - with some parts i liked - and others not. In general terms the gardens were well groomed, but once you started walking further afield to Scloss Charlottenhof i was surprised by the size of park and green land area. Unfortunately i thought there were poor facities e.g.... More

Do not go to Berlin without spending a day in Potsdam. Give yourself at least 6 hrs in Potsdam to see it all but a FULL day would be better. An amazing place. Beautiful.

We were visiting friends in Berlin when they said "Its nice weather, so lets go to Potsdam for the day?". They turned out to be the best 11 words I have heard in a while. Getting to Potsdam is quite easy by train from Berlin's Zoolischer Garten station. What was waiting for us for pure magical. Some of the best... More

We visited on our last day in Berlin, in just the perfect weather. Found parking right below Schloss Sanssouci, and, exhausted from 6 days of sightseeing previously, opted for a horse-drawn carriage tour. It wasn't entirely comprehensive (We didn't leave Park Sanssouci and hence didn't see Cecilienhof, etc.), but it was a pleasant way to go around to the New... More

The huge park at Potsdam offers so many different attractions that it is a place which needs a lot of time. Especially as the views change with the seasons. For me no visit to Berlin is complete without a visit to this site the park and the palaces can be free to walk around or pay to visit as you... More

Potsdam is a wonderful day trip from Berlin. Accessible by train this area is a throwback to the days of the Kaisers. Cecilienhof Hotel is an historic spot where Churchill, Stalin and Truman met for the Potsdam Conference.
