There are some landscape gems here worth seeing like the path that leads from the orange palace to belvedere house. It feels like you are taking a pathway to some fairy land really unreal! Amazing and most romantic! Beware the walks are very very long you need atleast 4 hrs to see the sans soci gardens

It is a nice enough park. I thought it would have been more spendid and better taken care of, but it was just like any other park except for just around the castles. I guess, I'm just not that enthusiastic because I went on a day when the heat was unbearable, and I had to pee :P So I guess... More

If you have seen the French palaces and gardens, don't expect the same form Potsdam's palaces and landscaping. The region is very nice and parts of the city are worth visiting.

The Gardens are unbelievably beautiful...its surreal walking down paths where the trees are so tall that you can barely see their tops from where youre waking. The different castles tell different stories about the times gone by. If you have the time then definitely make a trip over - it is beautiful.

This was my second visit and I wanted to ensure that all my sons had had the experience. It is an attractive town and the tour on the bus is enjoyable, but most of all it is so steeped in history: Second World War, Cold War, Berlin Wall.

Possibly one of the most beautiful gardens I have seen, leading to the Sansoucci (Care Free) Palace. A must see if you want a relaxing day in the sun. Downside is that there are too many tourists! The tour of the interior of the palace is over priced and difficult to book. Due to all the visitors we couldn't get... More

Easy trip by train. You can rent bikes and have a marvelous day out. There are several parks and gardens, and of course the palace. Except for the kitchen, the interior of the palace isn't as impressive as the exterior, though it deserves a visit. There are assigned times to get inside, so after buying the tickets you can have... This is a great day out. Very easy trip by train and then you can get the tram to the far end of the park and walk back through the gardens.

You can spend an entire day in Potsdam wandering the gardens and parks and marveling at the palace and museums. I highly recommend renting bikes -- it is A LOT of walking. Also, in order to visit the palace, you have to buy tickets for an assigned time. The outside is more impressive than the inside. Rent bikes, make a... More

Reached the town by S-tram easily and signed up for a bus tour which was very disappointing. At first none of the commentary was in English, only German, until some others complained. We had been told there were headphone translations available which there were not. We never entered any building (museum, palace, etc.) and primarily had views from the bus... More
