We arrived here early as we had heard that you could participate in curling. The man setting up explained we would need to return in two hours which we Duly did. We were then told that the place was fully booked and we would not be able to have a go. Bearing in mind we had walked approximately 5 miles... More

A very nice quiet place close central park. Picturesque views, good food (nothing very fancy, though) and just great for a laid back afternoon. Can be a bit slow with the service, though, if packed full.

A very cozy cafe in a cozy romantic setting. We have been here for breakfast. We have been within an hour. We have ordered after 15 minutes. Waiter came to tell several times that it was still take a few minutes. After an hour the waiter gave up and told us that we would get nothing. He was only the... More

We had a nice dinner in the evening, lovely lights, great atmosphere and very easy going. The food for sure wasn't bad but not great either.

I went here just for drinks on a date on an evening in early June. We got the beers ourselves so no interaction with service. The location was great- the lights in the trees were lit up, there were people boating on the lake, there was some music in the background, and it wasn't too busy. To summarize: a good... More

Tonight I spent two hours at the Café Am neuen See - what a location in the middle of a 4 mio city ! I could have sat there forever enjoying the sun and the atmosphere with many families and lots of international guests. I was a bit disappointed about the food, maybe because I opted for the Leberkäs and... More

Quite frankly, I have never before felt obliged to leave a negative review for any restaurant but the service my friend and I received at the Café am Neuen See in the Berlin Tiergarten was so shocking that I have no reservations about leaving a *scathing* one. The service was absolutely below par in several ways: - When asking for... More

The outdoor area in summer is a great place for a beer or pizza, but expect to pay for the location. As for the indoor restaurant, the location is superb, right beside Neuer See. Everything else is a disappointment. Service from staff is abrupt, do not expect service with a smile. Quality of food does not match the price. Not... More

Went for dinner and enjoyed it enough to go back another time for breakfast, all reasonably priced. Simple tasty food in a nice environment. It was very festive with candles and holiday decorations and roaring fires. Staff were very helpful with our non existent German.

Great location. I'd recommend the cafe for pizza and beer, and self-seating. We went to the restaurant section and had to talk the hostess into seating us at an open table. Menus all in German and wait spoke little English. (I certainly don't hold this against them but it made ordering a bit harder for us.) Food was OK. All... More

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighborhood Profile
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighborhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theaters close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
