For anyone interested in the history of Germany this museum is top notch. The audio-guide is a must (extra cost) with six hours of informative explanations. From the lobby to the I. M. Pei designed annex there are plenty of reasons to stop by the building even if you don't visit the museum collections. More

The Deutsches Historisches Museum is indeed vast, but it's beautifully laid out and curated. Some of the other historical museums are text-heavy, but this one is a perfect blend of extraordinary artifacts, art, and helpful readings. We expected to spend most of our time in the 20th century, but found the earlier periods so well presented that we spent the... More

The Museum was well priced. they say you can't take photoes but everyone was, and the people that worked their didn't stop you. The Museum went into full detail about German culture from the romans to Reunification. It takes several hours to go through. If your a big history buff, then it can take all day. Their was alot of... More

To kick in the door: this is one of the best museums I have seen in my life. Originally I am a Dutchy and highly disappointed we don't have a historic museum ourselves. Because Germany has a rich history and I am interested in it, it was a place worth visiting. It follows a path through time with old findings... More

Great walk through Germany's history, from its beginning to after WWII. But it'll take time if you really want to savour details from the middle ages up to the two world wars. But worth every minute if you love history and want to get a feeling for this country. More

The museum has a good display of German history from ancient times to the late 1900's. We enjoyed the special exhibition of Frederick the Great which was displayed in the newer addition. The newer addition is connected by a beautiful courtyard designed by I M Pei. More

The museum is wonderful - well set out, with plenty of translations to English (apart from the maps which I found to be a bit annoying!). You need plenty of time - we visited on two days, with about 4 hours in total the first day, and two hours the following day. We didn't manage to see it all... You... More
