Charged one of my friends for drinks I had already paid for.I was drinking in Melody Nelson( great bar over the road) and went back to advise that they had made mistake....no decent apology or free drink. Second visit there but won't be a third .....

Visited last on a tip from the receptionist in my hotel. A long tunnel of a bar with an impressive counter of bottles awaits once you have left the necessary layers with the doorman. This was just the spiritual journey I was seeking. There were many bartenders and I was approached by a giant of a Bavaria with great gin... More

We arrived in Berlin and used the trip advisor app to find a near by bar. We thought the bar was closed as the cast iron doors where closed, but rang the door bell and a man opened the door.... This is place is cool! Very 1920's style. Staff are really helpful. Max who served us helped us in the... More

Wow, my favorite spot in Berlin. Great service, Berlin in the 1920s, good drinks, easy atmosphere. One of the must sees in Berlin! Not much more to say, just enjoy it!

You should order seats here. They have a large selection of classic drinks, they're good, but not better than the other Berlin bars I went to, which are cheaper. Classic place, but I prefer more down to earth places. This one tries a bit too hard.

This little gold bar is very well hidden - and for good reason. Behind the thick and rusty metallic door lies a true cocktail and atmosphere treasure. Cool old school music, original drinks and friendly bartenders dressed in white shirts, shirt belts and hats. Complete. Bathed in a dark orange light this bar houses a crowd impressed by its originality... More

You will find few places in town with such a fantastic cocktail selection. It doesn't come cheap, but it is worth every penny. The style of the bar is great too. There is only one drawback, service is slooooooooooooow. The staff often prefer chatting behind the bar, than servicing customers. It is a lovely place, but be prepared to wait... More

The Reingold Bar in the center of Berlin is a very cool and styled bar. It's near the Station Friedrichstraße and easy to reach by the Undergroud (line 6 to Oranienburger Tor). It's a popular place with an elegant and nobel dresscode. Go there in company of a woman and you are welcome. Make sure to have a reservation and... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
