Being a tour guide myself (rated #1 in Nuremberg by TripAdvisor), I can say unequivocally that Harald is a very knowledgable and experienced tour guide. Our two hours together went by very quickly and I learned a lot. I plan to take another tour with him the next time I'm in Berlin.

The tour was 12 hours 2+ hours in from the cruise ship port. So there is about 5 hours of traveling. The private cruise was all in English and not several languages-that was great. The bus was comfortable many stops including the Wall, Brandenburg Arches, the American sector of Berlin, many monuments, the tour was wonderful. Then the drive back and I... More

we hired Harald twice while our stay in Berlin. One day we took a jewish based tour and another day a more general historical tour of Berlin, at the end of July 2015, we traveled with 2 young children and 5 teenagers. Harald kept everyone interested and we saw many jewish sights in Berlin. Harald was very informative, and knowledgable... More

My wife, two sons (ages 27 and 22) and I thoroughly enjoyed our 4-hour walking tour of the historic center of Berlin with Harald Zawuski. Harald is extremely knowledgeable about Berlin and its history. He is also professional and engaging. We covered a lot of ground over the course of the tour on what was a very hot day. We... More

What a difference Harald made to our appreciation of what a beautiful city Berlin is. We walked away with a much clearer understanding of the devestating history of this city and an appreciation of how the city is moving forward from its past. I would recommend doing a personal tour with Harold on day 1 of your stay as he... More

My husband and I were referred to Harald and we were very glad we reserved him for an afternoon in Berlin. He took us everywhere we wanted to go and was very knowledgable about the sights. We would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a private tour in Berlin.

We were looking for a particular kind of tour since we were with 3 teens and an 89 year old. Harald was able to easily mold the tour based on our needs. He was incredibly knowledgeable, professional and personable! Thanks Harald!

We were four couples and were unanimous that Harald was an expert, learned and very professional source of information about Berlin. He was prompt, courteous and extremely cordial. He responded promptly to all email requests prior to our trip. We highly recommend him for your tour of Berlin.

My husband and I spent our first day in Berlin with Harald which was the perfect start to our trip. He took us around and showed us all of the important sites as he narrated with incredible knowledge. He answered all of our questions and gave a very interesting insight into the German perspective. We couldn't have imagined a better... More

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighborhood Profile
Charlottenburg
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighborhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theaters close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
