I did a 2 day walking tour with Harald and it was fantastic. He was very receptive to what I wanted out of the tour and we walked all over. He gave great recommendations for restaurants and I feel that I saw parts of Berlin that others had not considered. I was particularly interested in the history and Harald was... More

I came to Berlin because I hadn't been since the Wall came down. I wanted to learn more and see the important remnants and monuments. In the days of East Berlin, my husband and I had taken a tour from the west to the east. I remember being stopped at Checkpoint Charlie and to this day, we both joke that... More

My wife and I did the driving tour with Harald in the '57 Bentley. It was a great time. Harald was very knowledgeable about the city and very entertaining as well. The car was fantastic and was the object of much discussion as we drove around. I could not find a single negative to say about it and would highly... More

My friend and I spent a very informative three hours with Mr. Zawuski during our April 2015 trip to Berlin. Because it was a very cold and rainy day, we ended up doing a driving tour of the city as opposed to the walking tour we had originally planned. We appreciated how much more of the city this enabled us... More

Would just echo the other reviewers comments... Harald has amazing knowledge, great sense of humour, and all round good guy. Was a pleasure to be shown a cool City, by such a good representative. Danke to Harald and your driver - your tour was the best introduction to Berlin anyone could wish for.!! D

For all reading this, please take my comments as the highest testimonial for Harald's superb tour director services. I visited Berlin with 3 colleagues a few weeks ago. Not only did Harald customize our experience, he worked with us in advance for dining and hotel suggestions - and packed in a birds eye view of the East and West during... More

He was early for our pick up, the van was fairly new, clean and comfortable. Harald's driver got us through pockets of heavy city traffic with ease with absolutely none of the stop and go, jerking driving that I'm guilty of, that drives my wife nuts and makes her carsick. Having lived in Berlin in the 1970's, I had specific... More

I arrived in Berlin with specific details of my tour requirements. Harald accommodated my requests with great enthusiasm and delivered the goods. The full day tour more than satisfied my curiosity of the remains of WWII but provided a valuable insight to the living conditions of the unfortunate East Germans who were ' imprisoned' behind the wall. Thank you so... More

Harald is fantastic; on extremely short notice he pulled together a vehicle and driver, and led a family of 6 (three generations) on a fabulous introductory tour of Berlin. He covered all the key sites, and tailored the tour to our specific requirements. As others have noted, Harald is extremely knowledgeable, and uses historical photos on his iPad to add... More

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighborhood Profile
Charlottenburg
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighborhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theaters close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
