Most of the other reviews mention how shabby and disorganised this "museum" is. Well, I'd love to have seen it for myself. I spent 12.50 Euros entrance fee (outrageous), went in and stood about 1 hour in the entrance lobby just after the turnstile because it was so overcrowded that the masses simply did not move up the tiny staircase... more

The Check Point Charlie Museum is a must for anyone interestedin WWII and the Cold War era. This museum is full of information. The price for this museum is very reasonable. more

To me, this was a museum of evidence of the irrepresible will and determination of mankind to be free. Faced with a life of oppression in Communist East Germany, I was amazed by the inventiveness of those who successfully crossed into the walled city of freedom that was West Berlin and saddened by the loss of those who died trying. more

What a mishmash of information presented in apparently no particular chronological order. It's mostly composed of things on the wall to read and focuses on the minutiae of certain people accused by the East German government of this or that, and how they went on trial and what preparations they made to escape, etc. So the "exhibits" (posters to read)... more

I've read reviews saying it's not worth going in this museum, but disagree. I've been here twice now and would still come back again on my next visit. The stories are fascinating and there's so much information it's impossible to absorb it all on one visit. This period of history was so recent and yet is another world entirely when... more

After the disappointment of the DDR Museum (small and not really interesting) where we paid 7 something euro, we did not take the risk to go to this 'museum' and pay 12,50 euro a person. Instead we went to the Wall park at the Bernauer Strasse and got a very good impression of the wall for free. more

It is a little pricey for the small museum, but it is very interesting to see all the history of the wall. My 12 year old was fascinated with it and said it was one of his favorite places on our two week trip through Europe! If you are at all interested in Cold War history, you will enjoy this... more

If found this museum very disappointing. It has such a huge rep but is so badly organised. I also found it very politically biased. It was also extremely expensive for a budget traveller. I would have given it just one star but the escape stories are quite cool. more

I have visited the museum twice: once in 1977 and again in 2003 and both times found it to be a most interesting place. It was still very small the first time with an eclectic collection of information exhibited much like a small country town museum. On my return in 2003, I spent a whole day there and could have... more
