I had a VIP ticket for the Tour, Dinner & Concert in Charlotteburg with my partner on 14th march 2015. The concert was this: http://www.residenzkonzerte.berlin/english/concerts-und-tickets/masquerade-venetian-temptation.html The service at the Venue was out-standing, we were greeted with the unbelieavable hospitability and everything was as perfect as you could imagine it can be. Food was great and the actors hosting the whole... More

we travelled on the train out to Charlottenburg where if you want, you can visit the palace. However the Orangerie which is part of the palace can be visited separately and they serve really lovely traditional German food.

We booked a package (tour of the castle with an audio guide, 3 course dinner and classical concert). The tour was interesting and not to long, the castle beautiful. The dinner took place in a wing of the Orangerie in a very nice historic Prussian setting. Food was average, though. The musiciansand singers (in historic costumes) were very talented and... More

We booked the full package which started with a visit to the castle, followed by dinner and a concert in the Grosse Orangerie. An atmospheric evening with plenty of pomp and ceremony, letting one imagine what it must have been like at the former court of the Prussian kings and queens. The set dinner menu, was, however, not outstanding, but... More

All done in great atmosphere and staff clearly enjoying it. Worth the money. Can be combined with a visit to the palace.

There is nothing better than enjoying the pomp and ceremony of the evening. Everything was visually beautiful and the food was delicious. One could imagine the king coming any minute. However, when the music began, the focus was on the musicianship. In this relatively small setting, the octet was under scrutiny. My family and I were impressed with the virtuosity... More

beautiful grand palais, nice garden. Buy a ticket that lets you in to all of the things to see. Be sure to see the biedermeyer/arts and crafts museum nearby (can't remember the name, sorry) We ate a lovely lunch at Trattoria Toscana Schlossstrasse 45

A dinner and concert at the Orangerie was a great experience, At the dinner, don't expect a very sophisticated menue but it is really about the atmosphere, the interior and the dressed up hosts which take you centuries back. The concert is wonderful and will likely please even those who are not otherwise big classic music fans. They try to... More

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighborhood Profile
Charlottenburg
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighborhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theaters close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
